Anyone furnishing a hall in India knows the real constraint is not the hall, it is the store. The wooden version of Link, designed by Luca Fornasarig, answers with a declared number: it stacks up to fifty pieces, thanks to the ultra-thin profile that gives the series its name in the first place.

Fifty chairs held in one column changes what a room can be used for. The seat and back are in ergonomically shaped wood — natural oak or walnut — on precision-cut high resistance solid steel, so the lightness is structural rather than a compromise on strength.

Elsewhere in the family the numbers are declared too: twenty for the outdoor version, eight on the floor or twelve on the trolley for the counter stool. The range also covers educational chairs, teaching tables and meeting and conference chairs.

Send La Mercanti the number of seats and the store you have: we quote the whole hall from it, with Fornasarig behind every code.

How to choose the seat finish on a Link chair

Wood, lacquer or fabric behave differently once the room is in use. Five steps.

Count the hours people stay seated
Long sittings are what the fully padded version is meant for.
Ask who cleans the room
A lacquered surface is wiped; a fabric one is vacuumed.
Listen to the space
Hard surfaces send sound back, upholstery takes some of it away.
Match the woods
Oak in the chair and oak in the table read as one family.
Have the choice confirmed
