Fifty-six centimetres. That is the width Kastel assigns to each Kicca once the chairs are linked in a row, one centimetre more than the chair on its own. The part that does the linking is the KC19, an ivory cover fixed beneath the seat with a coupling built into it. Kastel lists it for the four-legged chair, the maple-leg version, the sled and the cross sled, and quotes the same figure for all of them: 56 cm per seat. In a seminar hall, that single number converts a headcount into a row length before the first chair is unpacked.
At the meeting table, choose the four-legged model. It is 55 × 55 cm and 76 cm in height, with the seat 46 cm from the floor; this is the chair we show under conference room chairs, and it does equal duty as one of our visitor and waiting chairs. The polypropylene shell is moulded by injection as one part and clipped onto a frame of steel. Eleven colours are available. Without padding, eight chairs can be piled on the floor, or ten if the pile sits on the KC17 trolley.
Kicca comes on nine bases: four that stand still and five that turn. The fixed ones are four legs, maple legs with a steel structure inside, the sled, and the cross sled, also in bronze paint. The swivel ones are four feet and no castors, four feet on castors, the same with a gas spring, a round convex base, and a five-star base for a manager’s desk. Padding can be none, seat only, or seat and backrest. Two relatives: Kicca One, a monobloc of polypropylene strengthened with glass fibre, and Kicca Plus, a padded armchair. We use them at meeting tables, before a director’s desk for visitors, in reception lounges, in conference halls, and in the office canteen. La Mercanti draws the rows on your floor plan at a pitch of 56 cm.

Three. The first is the polypropylene shell with no padding at all. The second adds a padded seat. The third has both the seat and the backrest padded, with the padding on the front face of the backrest. The shell underneath is the same in every case, so all three can sit together in one room.
Yes. Kastel offers the four-footed swivel frame with castors, and also with castors plus a gas spring. On the gas version the seat travels between 46 and 58 cm, and the overall height between 76 and 88 cm. The version with castors alone keeps the fixed seat height of 46 cm.
Kicca One is a monobloc chair: the whole of it is injection-moulded in polypropylene strengthened with glass fibre. Kicca, by contrast, is a shell mounted on a separate steel frame. Kastel also makes Kicca One in recycled polypropylene. La Mercanti can quote both in the same offer.
Only on request, and under Italian homologation. Class 1IM applies when the covering is Trevi or Planet; Class 1 when the shell is fire-retardant polypropylene, grey or white. These are Italian classes: for a project in India, the fire norms that apply locally are checked on the project itself, and La Mercanti does that with your consultant.
A soft cloth and a neutral detergent, used only where there is a stain. For everyday upkeep Kastel asks for nothing more than periodic dusting and vacuuming. Solvents and abrasive products are to be avoided, as they are for every other part of the chair.
A Kicca order has five entries, and a missing one stops it. Follow these steps, beginning with the shell, so that the chair delivered is the chair you specified.
Write the shell colour first. Kastel offers eleven, from White to Black, with Brick Red, Olive Green, Ocean Blue, Turquoise and Lava among them. Every other entry on the order is read against this one, so fix it before moving on.
Say whether the shell stays unpadded, takes a padded seat, or takes a padded seat and backrest. For the two padded levels, add the covering by its collection name, such as Planet or Trevi, and its colour.
Kicca has nine bases, so “swivel” or “fixed” is not enough. Write sled, cross sled, four legs, maple legs, four feet, four feet with castors, four feet with castors and gas, round base with gas, or five-star base.
Each base has its own list. Four legs come in ten finishes; the sled in chrome, aluminium grey, black and white; the round base in black or chrome. Check that the finish you want exists for the base you have named.
Kastel notes that this base must be indicated in the order. Choose nylon, black or white, or aluminium, polished or painted, and give the diameter: for example Ø 700 mm in black nylon or Ø 654 mm in polished aluminium.
