The lumbar cushion that turns a low-back module into a long wait: One Hundred by Quinti

The backrest of One Hundred stops at 68 cm from the floor, with the seat at 38: a soft, low profile that does not wall off a reception. For a visitor who waits forty minutes, Quinti adds one piece to the list, the lumbar cushion X086CUS, 82 cm wide, 13 cm thick and 38 cm high. It sits against the backrest of the seat module and fills the lower back, so the generous 80 cm seat depth stops being a slouch and becomes a posture. The cushion is ordered separately, which means a facility can decide seat by seat where the long waits happen.

Listed with the seating for visitors in our Quinti range, One Hundred was drawn by Quinti Lab around two pieces: the seat module, 100 × 100 cm, and an ottoman with an identical plan, 38 cm high, both padded with polyurethane of variable density over a plywood carcass, strapped underneath, and set on adjustable feet. To close a row there are two end pieces: the 20 cm upholstered armrest, which exists only inside a composition, and the lacquered wood armrest of 25 × 50 cm, whose pad can be wood or fabric and whose finishes run from walnut and natural to Moka and open-pore black. In the lobby of an office the modules can run along a wall or stand as an island.

Around them sit the PICKR wiring and its two 5 V USB sockets, an edition whose foams hold the Italian 1IM approval for public spaces, and covers in categories 2 to 8 and IM, Crepè being the single exclusion, whether the setting is an office, a hotel or a house. La Mercanti counts the cushions per cabin, not per composition, because in an Indian office the waiting area outside the MD cabin and the lounge by the entrance rarely need the same number.

FAQ

Does leather on One Hundred need special care in a humid climate?

Quinti gives one rule for all its leathers: clean with a damp white cloth soaked in water only, and if a specific leather product is used, try it first on a patch nobody sees and give it a full day before judging the result. Leather is treated by the manufacturer as a delicate material, so the cover is wiped, never scrubbed, whatever the season.

What is the frame of One Hundred made of?

An internal load-bearing structure in plywood, on which the polyurethane padding is applied. The manufacturer notes that it is this plywood construction that lets the seat and the ottoman be joined easily into compositions, and it is the part to hold when the module is lifted.

How tall is the backrest, and how high is the seat from the floor?

The backrest reaches 68 cm from the floor and the seat sits at 38 cm, a low profile that keeps the view across a reception open. Seat depth is 80 cm on a module that is 100 cm deep overall, so the remaining 20 cm is the thickness of the back.

Are there wool fabrics with an ecolabel in the One Hundred range?

Yes: Main Line and Monochrome Sett, 75% virgin wool and 25% linen with the Ecolabel mark, and Technicolour, 100% new English worsted wool, also Ecolabel. They belong to categories 5 and 7 and give a buyer a documented fibre origin to quote in a tender.

How many One Hundred modules fit along a 5-metre wall?

Each seat module or ottoman occupies 100 × 100 cm in plan, so a 5-metre run takes four modules plus the two end pieces, which add 20 or 25 cm each depending on the armrest chosen. Counting in square metres, one module equals one square metre of floor.

How to receive and position a One Hundred delivery in an Indian office

From the goods lift to the final spot: the weights, volumes and handling rules Quinti publishes for the One Hundred modules, applied to a working building.

Book the lift for the One Hundred volumes

Each One Hundred seat module and each ottoman is packed in about 1 cubic metre; the upholstered armrest takes 0.5 m³ and the wood armrest 0.43 m³. Add the figures for the whole composition and give the total to the building manager before delivery day.

Assign one person per module

The seat module weighs 24 kg, the ottoman 20, the armrests 6 and 14 kg. One person can carry each piece, but the manufacturer asks that it be gripped by the load-bearing structure, never by the cover or the cushions.

Unpack where the piece will stand

Move the packed modules to the final room first and remove the packaging there: the covers are fully upholstered on every side, and carrying an unpacked module through corridors is how a fabric gets cut or torn.

Level each piece on its feet

The feet are adjustable. On an uneven floor, set each module level before pushing it against the next one, so the two cushions sit at the same height and the row reads as one piece.

Keep loads centred

Quinti specifies that the product must rest on its base and must not take off-centre loads, nor be stood on. Once positioned, the composition should be moved only by lifting, never by dragging a module by its backrest.
