Some visitors stay ten minutes, others stay an hour. For the second kind, Qubik has a chaise longue: the WIDE version measures 201 × 150 cm, comes with its armrest on whichever side you order, and gives someone with a long wait room to settle with a laptop or a file a few metres from the front desk.

Choosing the side is a planning decision rather than a detail, because the arm closes the composition towards the wall or towards the door. Qubik, drawn by Carlo Tomaso for Flexteam, is 107 cm in depth, 80 cm tall, cushions 42 cm up and arms at 65 cm. That is why it belongs among our visitor chairs as much as among the sofas and lounge seating.

The chaise longue is one entry in a longer list: straight sofas from 153 to 294 cm, one-arm elements, armless centres, maxi centres 154 cm deep, a 147 × 201 cm end unit, poufs, seats with no back and a table in black ash, enough to furnish a director’s lounge or a family living room. La Mercanti marks the side of the chaise armrest on the floor plan before the order is written.

FAQ

What lengths do the straight sofas come in?

Four: 153, 200, 247 and 294 cm, all 107 cm deep and 80 cm high.

Are there poufs for extra places?

Two sizes, 100 × 100 and 147 × 100 cm, both 42 cm high, level with the sofa cushions.

What is inside the frame?

Fir, plywood and fibre board, with reinforced elastic belts as suspension, according to the Flexteam technical sheet.

Will a velvet cover keep its look in daily use?

Flexteam is candid: chenille and velvet flatten with use, which is part of their charm. Fabrics with synthetic fibres hold their colour and size better when washed often.

What kind of stitching does Qubik use?

Flat stitching, called «Piatte» by Flexteam, on both the fabric and the leather version.

How to approve the Qubik upholstery before ordering

The cover is the part of Qubik everyone sees first. Five steps to approve fabric or leather on real samples instead of on a screen.

Shortlist the Qubik covers from the catalogue

The Flexteam catalogue photographs Qubik in Gritti 1 (fabric, cat. F), Tiepolo 10 (fabric, cat. D) and England 229 (leather, cat. 20). Start the shortlist there.

Decide fabric or leather first

Fabric is fully removable for washing; leather stays fixed and is cleaned in place. The choice narrows the list before colours come in.

Ask for the swatches

Request physical samples of the shortlisted covers. Their cost is fully credited back when the order is confirmed.

Check them under the room’s own light

Look at the samples where the furniture will stand, in daylight and under the reception lighting: colours shift between the two.

Write the approved code on the order

Record cover name and category against every element, so the whole composition is made in the same approved material.
