From graphic sign to full space: Antti Kotilainen

Design offices usually pick a scale and stay there. Antti Kotilainen works across two: the graphic scale of the drawn sign and the spatial scale of the room, joined in what his Helsinki studio — active since 1997 — calls complete visual concepts. The discipline shows in the furniture: every technical detail of fabrication and daily use is worked until the object looks spontaneous, which is why his pieces serve companies and universities across Europe and beyond, with Piiroinen among the Scandinavian houses that trusted him first.

For Lapalma he designed Seela (2018): La Mercanti specifies it for Indian meeting rooms and training floors, matched to the rest of the Lapalma range.
