A method in three moves: past, popular culture, nature

Cazzaniga Mandelli Pagliarulo, authors of the Pedrali Nolita and Nym chairs

Few studios describe their own process this precisely. Cazzaniga Mandelli Pagliarulo start from three ingredients — objects of the past, objects of popular culture and natural elements — combine them by intuition, then cut everything a three-way conversation cannot defend, until the concept is simple and hard to date. The three studied at the Politecnico di Milano, where Mandelli and Pagliarulo read furniture and textile design, and they signed as CMP from 2010 to 2025.

What came out for Pedrali includes Nolita, Nym, Jamaica and Tivoli. In Indian offices where one chair has to work in a canteen, a meeting room and a terrace, this is the catalogue La Mercanti draws from, floor by floor.
