Modernist India, drawn in London: Doshi Levien

Nipa Doshi grew up in Modernist India, and the studio she runs in London with Jonathan Levien treats that as method rather than memory: cultural research first, form afterwards. Their stated belief is that learning from the design intelligence of different cultures is what drives innovation.

For Arper the studio drew the Shaal sofa, the Roopa table and the Lepal chair. La Mercanti specifies them for Indian offices, where the lounge often does the work of a meeting room.
