Konstantin Grcic: sixteen producers put his drawings into series

Mutina stoneware by Konstantin Grcic in a corporate lobby in India

Trust in a designer is counted in production lines: sixteen manufacturers — from Vitra, Magis and Flos to Muji, Laufen and Mutina — put Konstantin Grcic's drawings into series. German, born 1965, a trained cabinet maker before the Royal College of Art, independent since 1991: his work sits in the MoMA and the Centre Pompidou, with a Compasso d'Oro among the honours.

For Indian projects, the ceramic line is the door: he belongs to Mutina's authored stoneware circle, which La Mercanti sources and steers all the way to site — an engineer's floor for lobbies that work.
