Neri&Hu: Asia designing for Asia, at world standard

Neri&Hu design studio founders Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu

For decades Asian projects imported their design language from Europe. Neri&Hu closed that loop: the Shanghai office founded in 2006 by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu designs for Stellar Works — the Asian house re-reading modernism — no fewer than seven seating families, from Ming and Mandarin to Utility, Industry and Stack. The same studio carries masterplans, hotels and graphics, with a team speaking over thirty languages.

The world took note: Architizer named them Firm of the Year in 2023, Dezeen crowned the studio in 2021. For Indian corporate and hospitality projects, the lesson lands close to home — excellence does not need a European passport, but it does need European-grade manufacturing. That is the bridge La Mercanti builds, bringing Italian-made furniture to offices that think globally.
