Mak

Ask Patrick Norguet what shapes a project and he lists three constraints: technical limits, economic boundaries, and the expectations of the people who will actually use the object. The Parisian designer, trained at ESDI and independent since 2000, treats them not as obstacles but as the whetstone that sharpens a creative impulse — which is why manufacturers from Cappellini to Pedrali keep returning to his studio, and why his objects age well in daily use rather than in photographs.
Two names on his client list sit in the La Mercanti catalogue: Lapalma, for which he signed the Mak bar stool in 2012, and Pedrali. For Indian projects that means his discipline arrives already priced, from the counter seat to the contract chair.
