Codutti presents One as the collection created to bring nature and wellness into the workplace, and it means it literally: wood, glass, steel, hide and stone, five materials and nothing else. The catalogue states that all the materials used in producing the collection are fully natural and recyclable, that the panels are made of recycled wood fibre veneered in natural walnut, and that the paints are non-toxic. The walnut comes in natural, tobacco and bleached vintage tones; the stone is Piasentina, quarried in north-east Italy; the glass is 12 mm extra-clear; the steel is mirror-polished stainless; the hide is worked by hand.
An MD's cabin can be furnished entirely within these five: a desk from 180 to 240 cm wide with a supporting drawer unit and a hidden secretaire, extensions with a laptop bay, open bookcases on panelled feet, cabinets with a built-in fridge or a digital safe, a boardroom table for 10 or 14 people, a standing conversation counter, waiting tables, leather chairs and sofas. Codutti states a five-year warranty in its 2025 price list. When a client in India asks for a sustainability note to attach to the project file, La Mercanti quotes the manufacturer's declaration word for word and adds nothing that Codutti has not written.

What is the secretaire compartment on the drawer unit?
A hidden compartment on the supporting drawer unit, closed by a door without handle that opens with a push-pull mechanism, opposite the four drawer fronts. Inside there is a melamine shelf for papers or a laptop; from the front of the desk the unit shows only a finished side.
Which finishes can the hide be ordered in?
Seventeen colours from the Codutti sample book under the Rainbow programme: tangerine, brick-red, gunmetal, white, cream, pink, blue and ten more. The hide is used on desk sides, tops of drawer units and bookcases, the meeting table insert and the column of the round table.
Do the cabinets lock?
Wooden doors take a half-cremone lock; the tempered glass doors with polished aluminium frame do not accept locks. Bookcase doors can be ordered with or without a key-lock, and the file drawers inside the cabinets run on telescopic ball runners with soft closing and an anti-tilt system.
Is there a chair for visitors in the same leather?
Yes: the visitor version of the One armchair keeps the hand-worked leather and the chromed armrests with covered pads, but stands on fixed glides instead of castors. The range also includes a low swivel armchair on a four-star base, a low-back stool and sofas with one, two or three seats.
Which accessories belong to the collection?
Twelve, drawn in the same materials: pen holder, paper tray, paper knife, cards and phone holder, ashtray, photo frame, technical desk lamp, desk lampshade, coat stand, floor lamp, built-in fridge and built-in safe. Metal parts are chromed or in mirror-polished stainless steel with Piasentina inserts, and the lampshades follow the hide colours.
How to secure a One cabinet with file drawers to the wall
Codutti requires every single One cabinet that holds file drawers to be anchored to a supporting wall: the steps to plan and do it properly.
Find out which One cabinets need it
Check the order: any One cabinet ordered with file drawers, when it stands alone rather than joined to other units, must be secured to a wall for safety. Cabinets with shelves only, or joined side by side, follow the normal installation.
Choose a wall that can take the load
The anchor goes into a supporting wall, not a partition: a full file drawer pulled open shifts the weight forward, and the fixing must hold it. Ask the site engineer to confirm the wall before the One cabinets are delivered.
Level the cabinet first
Set the One cabinet in place and adjust the feet from inside until the doors close evenly: the 110° hinges and the soft-close only work on a level unit, and the anchor should be fitted after levelling, never before.
Fix the top through the back
Use anchors suited to the wall material and fix through the upper part of the 8 mm finished back into the wall. Keep the fixing hidden behind the top shelf so the inside of the One cabinet stays clean.
Record it on the handover sheet
Note on the delivery report which One cabinets were anchored and by whom. La Mercanti's fitters photograph each fixing and the client keeps the sheet with the manufacturer's safety note from the price list.
