Trade terms for professionals and design studios

Some lines of the Acamante price list describe a permission more than a product. One states that the piece can be made to measure, quoted on request. Another accepts fabric supplied by the customer, provided it is plain-coloured and 140 cm wide and a sample is sent in; a third does the same for leather the customer provides. On the base, RAL colours beyond the two standard lacquers can be asked for as well. What Elisa Ossino designed in 2025 for LaCividina is therefore a starting drawing as much as a finished sofa.

The standard piece, for those comparing sofas and lounge furniture, is the sofa itself: a two-seater 290 cm long or a 395 cm three-seater, each of them 105 cm deep. It stands just 59 cm high and seats you 38 cm above the floor. Its base is plain, finished in glossy lacquer (RAL 9001 ivory and RAL 7021 grey) or covered like the rest; backrests and armrests are flat cushions placed in layers. The covering is removable, the padding is fire-retardant polyurethane foam with polyester fibre, and production is at Martignacco, Udine.

From the smallest piece to the largest, the family goes like this. The low table and the pouf both occupy 105 × 105 cm, the first lacquered and 17 cm high, the second at seat height. The seat module of the modular system keeps that square plan; the left and right end elements grow to 145 cm; the dormeuse reaches 210 cm. Put together, we use them in lounges, hotel lobbies and homes, and in reception areas alongside or instead of visitor and waiting chairs. La Mercanti turns the client’s sketch and fabric into a written request to the maker.

FAQ

Has Acamante received any recognition from the Italian design community?

Yes: it has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026, as LaCividina announced on 2 October 2026. The Index is the yearly publication of ADI’s permanent Design Observatory; it gathers a selection of the best Italian design and serves as the pre-selection for the Compasso d’Oro.

What are the dimensions of the pouf in the Acamante family?

The pouf is a square of 105 × 105 cm and is 38 cm high, level with the seats of the sofa. Like the seating modules, it can be had with either a lacquered or an upholstered base, and it has codes of its own in the list.

Which lacquer colours does LaCividina offer as standard on the base?

Two, both in a glossy finish: RAL 9001 ivory and RAL 7021 grey. They apply to the sofas and to every module of the system, while the low table is produced in lacquer alone, with no upholstered alternative.

Could you tell us what padding is used inside an Acamante sofa?

Fire-retardant polyurethane foam combined with polyester fibre, according to the technical sheet. Any fire classification a particular building may require is checked on the project, against the documentation of the maker.

In what kinds of spaces is Acamante usually placed?

We place it in lounges, in reception and waiting areas, in hotel lobbies and in the living rooms of private homes. These are our own applications of the system: its modules can form a single sofa for a home or a long run for a public room.

How to read the Acamante codes before sending the enquiry

Acamante codes come in two series, one for each base, plus four ACA codes for the ready-made sofas. Five steps for reading them before the enquiry is written.

Know the two Acamante series

Every Acamante module carries a numeric code, and the codes fall into two series. Those from 1670 to 1675 belong to the lacquered base; those from 1680 to 1684 belong to the upholstered base.

Match the module across series

A module keeps its place in each series: the seat is 1670 and 1680, the dormeuse 1673 and 1683, the pouf 1674 and 1684. Choosing the base therefore decides which of the two numbers is written down.

Tell left from right

End elements have one code per side. On the lacquered base the left element is 1671 and the right element 1672; on the upholstered base they become 1681 and 1682. Each end of a composition needs its own number.

Note the table stands alone

Code 1675 is the low table. It has no partner in the second series, because the table is produced lacquered only: it is the one number that does not change with the base of the seating.

Use ACA codes for sofas

The ready-made sofas are coded separately. ACA01 is the two-seater and ACA02 the three-seater on a lacquered base; ACA03 and ACA04 are those two sofas again, this time on an upholstered base.
