Teaching interiors to think interactively: Elisa Ossino at IUAV
Since 2016 she has held a teaching post that says much about where interiors are heading: the Master in Interactive Media for Interior Design at IUAV University in Venice. Elisa Ossino — Sicilian-born, trained at the Milan Polytechnic — brings to the classroom what she practises in her studio, founded in 2006: residential and retail interiors, product design, art direction and set design, guided by geometric abstraction and monochromes. The record backs the lectures: an EDIDA award in 2020 and AD's Top 100 in 2019 and 2020.
Within the La Mercanti portfolio, two manufacturers list her among their official designers: Dieffebi, the steel storage specialist, and Fantini of Lake Orta. For Indian workplaces built digital-first, a designer who teaches interactivity is a reassuring signature to specify.
