Indian architecture has always moved through covered open air — verandahs, colonnades, shaded courts where inside and outside negotiate. Osso & Bottone speaks that language: the first Mutina collection created expressly for exterior spaces, with R11 slip resistance, barefoot class C and 0.15% water absorption, so a walkway stays safe through the monsoon and elegant through the dry season.
Designed by Ronan Bouroullec in 2024, the four modules are sculpted rather than printed: Osso narrows at its waist like a bone, Bottone carries circular edge cuts that close into perfect rings across the mandatory 4 mm joint — the pattern literally appears in the grout. Unglazed porcelain, full-body coloured with mixed earths in five shades (Sabbia, Grigio, Rosso, Blu, Verde), 10 mm thick, with stain class 5 and class A chemical resistance for floors that host chai, turmeric and everything in between.
Plan it across the connective tissue of a campus or hotel — entrance courts, corridor loggias, café terraces — and let the same surface continue into reception. Technical sheet and certificates can be downloaded from this page.
