Brunch is a high table, not a desk: that is the point
Indian offices grow faster than their floor plans, and the furniture that survives is the furniture that changes role. Lapalma lists Brunch as a high table for the office — a category that sits between a desk and a meeting room, and does the work of both. Nobody owns it, everybody uses it: a quick review standing up, a laptop for an hour, a coffee that turns into a decision. The three heights — 110, 90 and 74 cm — let the same family cover all three habits.
The construction explains why it holds up. The wooden top is curved hollow-core with an internal frame of poplar and beech plywood, 5 cm thick and changing thickness along its length, and it comes down to the floor on one side while metal carries the other. Designed by Romano Marcato in 2012, it is also offered electrified and as a cafeteria counter or a work station in public spaces. La Mercanti scales it across Indian floors, one island at a time.
