Line System by Dieffebi dividing a collaborative studio

A bookshelf with two faces: Line System divides the studio

Dieffebi

Elisa Ossino

In most shelving, the back is where the design gives up — raw board, screws, apology. Line System finishes it: the back is thermoformed, in a colour of its own, paired at the factory with the steel body. Which means the unit can leave the wall and stand mid-room: bookshelf on one side, coloured facade on the other — a partition that holds your library instead of just blocking light.

Elisa Ossino designed the system for Dieffebi on a 390 mm bay: five widths, five heights up to 2150 mm, open metal shelves, semi-gloss RAL finishes, every format documented with weight and metal tests. For growing studios and coworking floors, zoning becomes furniture, not construction work.

La Mercanti plans Line System layouts for offices across India and the Gulf — share the floor plan, and the configuration returns confirmed in writing by the manufacturer.

FAQ

What is the base module of the system?
A 390 mm bay at 390 mm depth — the cell every format multiplies. Widths grow to 1870 mm, heights to 2150, in twenty-three catalogue combinations.
Which colours are standard?
Three semi-gloss finishes: Pure White, Black and Ochre Brown, each with a factory-paired back colour; custom shades are available on request.
Is there an environmental credential?
The data sheets declare a «green» design in accordance with LEED standards — relevant when the fit-out sits inside a certified building project.
How is the finish protected for daily use?
The declared test battery covers scratch, abrasion, impact and liquids — and care is simple by design: a soft cloth, never abrasive pads.
Can we see samples before committing?
Yes — La Mercanti provides Dieffebi finish samples, with the sampling cost fully credited at order confirmation.

How to grow a shelving wall as the team grows

Start with one module, end with a wall: five steps to phase the purchase without mismatched furniture.

Start where work happens
One or two bays beside the project table cover the first six months.
Keep the spec on file
Colour, height and bay noted once — every later order matches the first.
Add width before height
Extending the run keeps the room calm; going taller changes its architecture.
Reserve the tall formats
When archive outgrows the run, the full-height unit absorbs it against a structural wall.
Phase with La Mercanti
We keep your configuration with Dieffebi so each phase ships matching and confirmed in writing.
