Class 1 IM on every model, and the declaration comes with the order: Ester by Pedrali
Pedrali keeps an index at the front of its price list that lists, model by model, what is homologated for reaction to fire. Against Ester it does not name codes: it says any model. Every version of the family — the chairs at the table, the swivel, the stool, the lounge chair, the pouf — is classified 1 IM. When a fire consultant is involved this matters less as a logo than as a procedure, and Pedrali writes that one too: the declaration of conformity is issued on written request made at the time of the order, and it covers that supply. Ask for it later and it is a different conversation.
The chair underneath the certificate is quiet. A steel inner frame carries elastic belts; flexible polyurethane, 60 kg/m³, is moulded over it and covered in fabric; the legs are die-cast aluminium in four metal finishes. At the table you use the 690 armchair, 66.5 cm wide with the seat at 46.5 cm, or the 691 side chair at 48 cm. The same shell also comes on a gas-lift swivel base with castors for a cabin, on tapered steel at counter height, and on a low frame in the visitor area. La Mercanti collects the declarations with the technical sheets so the file is complete before the handover, not after it. Pedrali also declares the recycled share version by version — 45.1% on the armchair, 50.5% on the side chair, 71.4% on the stool — so a specification that asks for material data gets an answer per line, not per collection.

When it is the right choice
- Projects that have to answer a fire consultant: class 1 IM is declared on every Ester model, with the declaration issued on written request.
- Meeting rooms in continuous use: the shell is moulded polyurethane at 60 kg/m³ over a steel frame with elastic belts.
- Fit-outs that run from the boardroom to the visitor area: the same shell exists on legs, swivel column, stool and lounge base.
When another solution serves you better
- For a task chair with a test report: EN 1728 is declared on the legged models, not the swivels → Ergonomic Office Chairs
- For a cafeteria where seats are wiped daily: every Ester is fabric-upholstered, no washable shell is declared → Designer Chairs
- For a terrace or a rooftop: Pedrali declares no outdoor version of Ester → Outdoor Dining Furniture
