Seating plans usually need name cards. Catifa Sensit can do it with silhouettes: the same shell comes with a low, medium or high backrest, and around one table the three heights read as three roles. Low for the guest who joins for a single item, medium for the people who work the whole agenda, high where the meeting is chaired — a hierarchy drawn in profile, without a single sign on the table.

Under the surface the three share everything: the synchronised mechanism integrated in the backrest that eases the incline and relieves the lower back, the four-spoke aluminium base — swivel or with return mechanism — and the covering options declared by Arper, down to the customer's own fabric. Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina in 2014, the family stretches beyond the meeting room to visitor seating, waiting areas, executive desks on castors and the study at home. For Indian projects, La Mercanti assembles the height-by-role scheme on paper first, with delivery times confirmed in writing at order confirmation.

FAQ

Is the mechanism the same across the three heights?
Yes: the synchronised self-weighting mechanism sits inside the backrest of Types 1, 2 and 3 alike, easing the incline and relieving the lower back regardless of the silhouette chosen.
Can the same chair also serve the workstations?
The castor types — 4, 5 and 6 — carry a gas-lift for height adjustment and are the ones intended for desks. The four-spoke versions keep a fixed height for the meeting table.
Which coverings can be specified?
Fabric, leather, coated fabric or the customer's own material, as declared by Arper; the fully upholstered Types 5 and 6 also accept the customer's leather.
How are the aluminium parts kept clean?
With ordinary detergents diluted in lukewarm water — never abrasives, acids or bleach, and no synthetic or metal sponges. After washing, the manufacturer indicates drying with a chamois cloth.
How are fresh stains removed from the fabric?
By dabbing at once with a clean, well-wrung cloth, working from the edge towards the centre, never rubbing. Any cleaning product should first be tested on a hidden area, waiting 24 hours.

How to service a Catifa Sensit meeting fleet through the year

A light maintenance calendar that keeps a floor of Catifa Sensit chairs presentable between projects, following the manufacturer's care sheet.

The weekly pass
Vacuum the fabric seats gently once a week, as Arper prescribes: dust is what ages a covering, not use.
The monthly metal check
Wipe bases and spokes with a soft cloth; for marks, use a mild detergent diluted in lukewarm water and rinse well — never abrasives.
The stain protocol
Dab fresh stains at once with a clean, well-wrung cloth, working from the edge inwards. Test any product on a hidden area and wait 24 hours.
The leather positions
Keep leather Catifa Sensit chairs away from direct sunlight and heat sources when rearranging rooms: position, not polish, preserves the colour.
The annual survey
Once a year, walk the rooms and list any Catifa Sensit whose covering shows wear: planned single replacements cost less than refurbishing a whole room later.
