Inca luxury executive table by i4Mariani in an MD cabin

Melamine listed next to leather: what Inca admits

i4Mariani

Valerio Sommella

Italian executive catalogues rarely print the word melamine. The Inca data sheet does: tops and fronts are available veneered, covered in saddle leather or leather, or in melamine. For a project that has to furnish one chairman's cabin and eleven manager rooms, that single line changes the arithmetic — the same design, the same charcoal grey lacquered foot, the same handles, with the surface specified according to the room.

Nothing else is diluted. Tops measure 200 to 260 cm at 110 deep or 180 to 220 at 90, height 75,5; the socket box rotates away inside the lacquered element; the service cabinet lifts its top electrically to 125 cm. Design by Valerio Sommella, 2022. La Mercanti supports Indian projects with drawings and samples, and with one contact who follows the order to delivery.

FAQ

Is a melamine top acceptable in an executive cabin?
It depends on which room. The point is that Inca lets you decide: the chairman's cabin can take saddle leather or ebony type veneer while the manager rooms take melamine, and every piece keeps the same lacquered foot, the same handles and the same proportions. The design does not drop a grade with the surface.
Does the price of the collection change much between surfaces?
Surfaces are one of the variables a quotation is built on, alongside size and configuration. We prepare the comparison on the actual specification rather than by rule of thumb, so the difference is visible on the same drawing.
Which veneers are standard?
Ebony type, and ash lacquered to match any leather or saddle leather colour of the PF-CF and PS-CS categories. That second option is unusual: the wood takes the colour of the hide you have chosen.
Can one room mix two surfaces?
Yes. Besides the full-surface versions there is a top partly covered in saddle leather or leather, and cabinets can carry different materials on top, sides and fronts.
How deep are the low cabinets?
50 cm, at 85,5 cm high, in widths of 224 and 280 cm. That depth takes standard files while keeping the unit below the eye line of anyone seated at the table, which is what allows a whole floor of cabins to share the same wall solution.

How to furnish a floor of cabins without dropping the design

Five steps for projects where one room is the chairman's and eleven are not.

Fix the design language once
Same lacquered foot, same handles, same proportions in every room. The identity comes from these, not from the surface.
Rank the rooms
Decide which cabins carry leather or veneer and which take melamine, before any sizes are chosen.
Keep the sizes coherent
200 to 260 cm at 110 deep, or 180 to 220 at 90. Two depths are enough for an entire floor.
Standardise the storage
Sideboard cabinets at 71,5 cm and low cabinets at 85,5 repeat across rooms and simplify both ordering and installation.
Review it as one package
La Mercanti prepares the full specification with drawings and samples, so the comparison across rooms happens before the order.
