Octagonal Lloyd meeting table by IVM with eight equal sides and faux leather centre

Lloyd by IVM — the octagonal table where all eight seats are equal

IVM

Perin & Topan

Every meeting room declares a hierarchy before anyone speaks: the rectangle has a head, and the head has an owner. The Lloyd octagonal table declines the arrangement. Eight equal sides, 185 by 185 cm, and — in the motorised version — a centre that rises at the touch of a button to reveal eight power stations, one per seat: UNEL socket, USB for charging or data, RJ45. Equality, in this table, is not a seating suggestion. It is wired in.

The catalogue calls the octagon the hyperbole of the infinite, which is the Italian way of saying the geometry was chosen with intent. Giorgio Topan designed the whole collection for IVM Office with that intent intact: aluminium loop frames of 105x13 mm, tops built as 15 mm panelled surfaces over a 40 mm core, finished in Canaletto Walnut, Eucalyptus, five matte FENIX colours or gloss lacquers in Ice White, Green and Tortora. For the leader's own room there are desks of 210 and 240 cm with a slide-out faux leather pad concealing cables and power.

When the meeting outgrows eight, the elliptical tables take over — 320 to 620 cm, the longest on ten frames — and credenzas at 86 or 153 cm hold the room together. Materials comply with UNI EN standards; production is CARB 2 certified. Luxury here is not the shine of the lacquer. It is a table that settles the question of precedence by making it geometrically impossible.

FAQ

Why choose an octagonal meeting table over a rectangular one?
Because the octagon has no head: eight equal sides put the chairman, the CFO and the youngest partner at identical distance from the centre. The Lloyd octagonal makes the point practical too — in the motorised version each of the eight seats gets its own power station with UNEL socket, USB and RJ45.
How is the Lloyd octagonal table powered?
The centre insert, upholstered in Brown faux leather, rises electrically at the touch of a button and exposes eight power units. Each combines a UNEL socket, a USB port configurable for charging or data transmission, and an RJ45 port — enough for a fully wired eight-person review with nothing trailing on the floor.
Which finishes suit a luxury executive cabin best?
Canaletto Walnut and Eucalyptus veneers carry the traditional gravitas; the five FENIX matte colours and the gloss lacquers in Ice White, Green and Tortora read younger. Frames come in Pewter, Olive Brown or FENIX shades, so the table and the desk can share one palette across the floor.
What sizes do Lloyd desks and larger tables come in?
Desks of 210 and 240 cm, always 100 deep and 75 high; elliptical meeting tables of 320, 420, 520 and 620 cm — the longest engineered on ten aluminium loop frames — plus the octagonal 185x185 and a round table of 140 cm.
What certification and support come with a Lloyd specification?
Materials comply with UNI EN standards and production is CARB 2 certified for formaldehyde emissions; technical sheets are downloadable from the article page. La Mercanti supports the specification with finish samples, their cost fully credited when the order is confirmed.

How to set up a meeting room where rank stays at the door

Five steps for corporate offices and consultants planning an executive meeting suite around the Lloyd octagonal table — geometry first, technology second, hierarchy last.

Choose the octagon for the working eight
The 185x185 table seats eight as equals with everyone one gesture from the centre. Reserve it for the leadership reviews where discussion, not presentation, is the format.
Order the motorised centre where laptops rule
If most meetings run on screens, specify the rising power centre: eight UNEL, USB and RJ45 stations appear at a touch and disappear when the table returns to being a clean surface.
Scale up with the ellipse, not with a second table
From 320 to 620 cm the elliptical family covers management meetings to full boards on the same loop-frame language — one collection, every room size.
Match the leader's desk to the table
A 240 cm Lloyd desk in the same walnut or FENIX finish keeps the cabin and the meeting room in one visual register, with the slide-out pad hiding the cables.
Finish the room at credenza height
The H 86 serves tea and holds files below the sightline; the H 153 stands as a full wall piece. Both close with soft-running doors and a full-height handle — quiet, like the meeting you just planned.
