De Symetria modern executive table in an MD cabin

Two pedestals, one fixed and one on casters: De Symetria

i4Mariani

Luca Scacchetti

Storage under a desk is usually one decision. De Symetria makes it two: a fixed pedestal of 60 by 70 cm at 60 cm high, and a castored pedestal of 43 by 58 cm at 62 cm that rolls. The first belongs to the composition and stays put; the second can be pulled out when two visitors sit down, or pushed against the wall when the cabin is used for a meeting.

Around them the collection stays disciplined: tops of 205 and 225 cm by 100 deep at 75 high, in saddle leather, leather, ebony type veneer or 15 mm extra-clear glass; legs of 65 by 10 cm carrying a chromed cross that receives the top; polished aluminium handles. Designed by Luca Scacchetti in 2010, De Symetria reaches Indian projects through La Mercanti, with drawings supplied at planning stage.

FAQ

When is a castored pedestal better than a fixed one?
When the cabin does more than one job. At 43 × 58 cm it is narrow enough to sit under the top and move away for a meeting, which matters where the same room hosts a desk and a two-chair discussion. The fixed 60 × 70 pedestal is the better answer when storage is heavy and permanent.
Do both fit under the same table?
Both are designed for the collection, at 60 and 62 cm high against a table height of 75. The exact position depends on the leg placement and the chosen length, so it is drawn on the plan before ordering.
What goes in the drawers?
The fixed pedestal takes drawers of 56 × 55 cm. Sizes for the castored version and the internal layout are confirmed on the manufacturer's documentation for the configuration chosen.
Can the pedestal match the table finish?
Yes: tops, sides and fronts are available covered in saddle leather or leather, veneered, veneered with leather edges, or coupled with painted glass. It can echo the table or contrast with it.
Which table size suits a standard cabin?
205 × 100 cm is the compact option and 225 × 100 the larger one, both at 75 cm high. With one depth only, the plan comes down to length plus the circulation you leave around it.

How to plan storage under an executive table

Five steps that decide whether the cabin can change use during the day.

Ask what else the room does
If it hosts meetings as well as desk work, the castored pedestal earns its place.
Measure the clear span
Between legs and modesty panel there is a fixed opening. The pedestal has to fit it, not the other way round.
Split permanent and mobile storage
Heavy files in the fixed unit, daily items in the one that rolls.
Match the finishes
Leather, veneer or painted glass on the fronts, with polished aluminium handles across the collection.
Confirm on the drawings
La Mercanti supplies drawings before the order, so both pedestals are placed on the plan rather than on site.
