Modern office table Cloud by Codutti with tempered glass top

Glass, leather and wood: the Cloud executive desk described in one sentence

Codutti

Codutti describes Cloud with a sentence most manufacturers would never risk: «the shapes are clean and essential, while the materials are ancient and precious: glass, leather and wood». Three nouns, no adjectives borrowed from technology. On the desk they are distributed with care: tempered glass for the top and for the feet, wood as the alternative top and as the body of the sideboards, leather to clad the structure wherever the client wants a surface that warms up under the hand. The order in which the maker lists them is also the order in which the eye meets them.

Codutti, the executive-furniture maker from Udine founded in 1954, had the collection designed by Robby Cantarutti and Paolo Martinig as «a tribute to the tradition of design, revisited in a modern key». The desk measures 200 × 100 cm, or 260 × 210 cm with the lateral cabinet; sideboards of 180 and 243 cm, two meeting-table lengths and three coffee tables share the same three materials. Before the quotation La Mercanti ships the three of them to the client as physical samples, so that the sentence can be checked with the fingers rather than on a screen.

FAQ

What is special about the feet of the Cloud furniture?
They are made of tempered glass, like the top. Codutti says so explicitly: the feet of the furniture are also in tempered crystal. The desk and the sideboards therefore rest on a transparent base, and the heaviest-looking part of a piece, its contact with the floor, becomes the lightest.
Which meeting tables belong to the collection?
Two lengths, 280 and 420 cm, both 120 cm deep, and each is available with a wooden or a tempered-glass top: four items in the price list. The 420 cm table is the longest piece in the collection and the one that defines the size of the boardroom.
Is there a Cloud storage unit taller than the sideboard?
Yes: the four-door sideboard of 243 cm width exists at 77 cm and at 115 cm in height, both 58 cm deep. The taller version works as a cabinet behind the desk while keeping the proportions of the low models.
Does Cloud come with a manufacturer's warranty?
Codutti prints a five-year warranty on the cover of its 2025 price list, and it covers Cloud. La Mercanti includes the maker's terms with the order confirmation and handles any claim on the client's behalf from Italy.
In how many finishes is the structure available?
Codutti states that the structure comes in several finishes and that every part can be clad in leather, but the temporary 2025 price list does not publish finish names or codes. La Mercanti confirms the current finish options and the leather range on samples before the order.

How to size a boardroom around a Cloud meeting table

The Cloud meeting table comes in two lengths and the room, not the table, decides which. Five measurements before the purchase order.

Measure the clear length of the room
Write down the wall-to-wall length where the Cloud table will stand. Subtract 120 cm at each end for the chairs at the head and for people walking behind them: what remains is the maximum table length.
Choose 280 or 420
If the remaining length is under 420 cm, the 280 cm Cloud table is the one. If it exceeds 420 cm comfortably, the longer table works; between the two numbers, the shorter table with more breathing space wins every time.
Check the width against the room
Both tables are 120 cm deep. Add 90 cm on each long side for chairs and passage: a room narrower than 300 cm makes the long sides tight, whatever the length of the table.
Plan the screen wall
Decide which short wall carries the screen and keep the Cloud table centred on it. The sideboard from the same collection goes on a long wall, never behind the screen where it blocks the cable route.
Send the numbers, get the plan
Room length, room width, position of door and screen: with these four figures La Mercanti draws the Cloud table, chairs and sideboard to scale and confirms the delivery route to the boardroom before the order is placed.
