Three top lengths for the unit, 180, 210 and 270 cm, one on its own, 220: how Estel’s price list sorts Ducale
Let's discuss your project
Trade terms for professionals and design studios
Three lengths of top for the service unit, 180, 210 and 270 cm, and a single length for the table on its own, 220. That is how Estel’s price list sorts Ducale, and it is the first question on any cabin drawing, before veneer and before leather; depth stays at 100 cm and height at 74 in every case. Scan the modern office tables on this page: most are sold as one top with options around it, Ducale by what the top is meant to meet.
Top and leg are both 6 cm thick, with Eucalyptus and American Walnut veneers to choose from; the top can take a Pelle Soft strip on the side where the director sits, the veneer left for the visitor, and the modesty panel, in the same veneer, connects the leg to the unit structurally. The unit comes in two sizes along the table, 100 or 205 cm, and the cabling and sockets live in its service compartment, the powered hatch sitting on the unit rather than on the table. The design is Estel R&D’s own, from Thiene, Vicenza.
Start from the table by itself: 220 × 100, with hatch and cable tray, DU100 or DU102 in veneer. Add the unit and the top changes code and length, 180, 210 or 270, in veneer or with the Pelle Soft band. Then choose P100 or L205, two drawers or a rack for files, and the side. Set at right angles to the table it becomes the L-shape office table a director’s cabin is usually planned around, the top passing over the unit by 30 cm.
La Mercanti lists Ducale on the quotation by its top length first and the unit second, the order a cabin is read in.

FAQ
How is the Pelle Soft band on a Ducale table kept clean?
Dry, and gently. Estel’s Product Care says water and detergents are not recommended on its leather, and rules out stain-removal kits, shoe polish, solvents, floor wax, cosmetics, acids, alkalis and steel wool. Routine care is a soft dry cloth without vigorous rubbing; dried stains and crusts come off with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner on low power. For sanitising, Estel points to a sanitising detergent chosen through its Estel Care service, applied with a soft sponge after a test on a hidden patch.
Which sanitiser is safe on the Ducale veneer, by Estel’s own rules?
Quaternary ammonium compounds, benzalkonium chloride being the example Estel gives. They mix with water, and in the right proportions the booklet describes them as odourless, non-corrosive and non-irritating, which matters in a cabin that is sanitised between visitors. Two conditions apply: try the solution on a hidden spot first, and keep acid or alkali products away from the veneer altogether, since the same section forbids them outright. Ordinary dirt, it adds, needs no more than a dry cloth.
Where exactly is the top access on a Ducale composition?
On the service unit, not on the table top. The catalogue caption describes the modesty panel joining the leg to the side unit on which the electrified top access sits, and the price list places the technical compartment for cables and power sockets inside that unit. So the opening you lift to reach the sockets is on the unit beside you, at 57 cm, below the 74 cm of the table. The exception is the 220 × 100 table sold without a unit, which carries its own hatch and cable tray.
Is there a USB version of the Ducale socket module?
Yes: Type 4, code GC036, pairs 3 Schuko-EU power sockets with 2 USB charging sockets at 5 V. Type 1, GC030, keeps the same 3 Schuko sockets and swaps the USB for 2 RJ45 category 6 couplers for data and telephony. Both modules are black, 38 × 6 × 4 cm, and both include a 220 V female connector with an interlock; the power lead is a separate code, GC090, 2.8 m long, with a Schuko plug and a GST 18-3 socket. For an Indian installation the line to read is the footnote: different international standards can be supplied on request.
How does the service unit sit against the Ducale table?
At right angles, and the decision is taken when the table is assembled. Estel’s placement schemes show the unit set across the end of the table, to the right or to the left according to the code pair, with the table top passing over the unit by 30 cm. The unit is 60 cm wide in both versions, P100 and L205, so the cabin plan has to allow for that run at the side as well as for the top. The price list draws one scheme, repeated for the two unit sizes, and describes no other position.
The technical file for a Ducale cabin: five Estel documents to collect
Before an MD cabin is drawn around Ducale, five Estel documents settle the facts: the catalogue, the price-list pages, the Product Care booklet, the finish names and the product photographs. How to collect them, in order.
Open the catalogue at page 50
The Executive & Common Area catalogue of 2019 presents Ducale on pages 50 to 53: the description of the table integrated with its base unit, the 6 cm section of top and leg, the two unit sizes of 100 and 205 cm, and on pages 52 and 53 the room photograph with its caption, leather for the operator and veneer for the visitor. That caption is the first page of the file.
Copy the price-list pages, codes included
The Executive & Common Area price list, edition EU-09/21, carries Ducale on its printed pages 78 to 83: the table of single desks, the table of desks for the service unit, the units themselves with drawers or filing rack, the placement schemes with their overall dimensions, and the page of socket modules. The price list states that where it disagrees with a catalogue, the price list prevails.
Add the two Product Care sections
Estel’s Product Care booklet of 2020 covers many materials; for Ducale only two sections count, Veneer and Leather, plus the general page on room climate, light and damage. Veneer: dry cloth, neutral detergent barely damp, no microfibre, no acids or alkalis, silicone-free polish at most once a year. Leather: no water, soft dry cloth, soft brush or low-power vacuum, sanitiser via Estel Care.
Write the finishes with Estel’s names
The file uses the manufacturer’s own words: Eucalyptus or American Walnut for the veneer, Pelle Soft for the leather band, in that spelling. The top is declared in veneer or in veneer with Pelle Soft; leg, modesty panel and service unit are declared in veneer. No colour of leather and no other wood is published for Ducale, so none goes into the file.
Save the photographs La Mercanti sends
La Mercanti sends nine Estel images of Ducale and the documents that match the file: Technical Data, the Catalog and Cleaning and maintenance. The pictures show the table with the service unit set across its end, the top access on the unit, the leather band on the working side and the veneer on the visitor’s side, with shelving and wall units behind.
