Aluminium spacer joining the Oxford X-shaped leg

One leg, drawn as an X: Oxford by DVO Office

DVO

Antonio Morello

Most executive desks stand on boxes; Oxford stands on a letter. The X-shaped leg — two 38 mm panels crossing and locked by a glossy 8 mm aluminium spacer — is the structural signature of the system: seen from the visitor’s chair it draws the desk before the top does. Those who prefer calmer lines specify the L-shaped leg instead; the geometry changes, the construction logic doesn’t. It is exactly what DVO means by essential forms that intersect.

Designed by Antonio Morello, the modern executive desk runs at 200 or 220 cm, stretches to a 210 cm deep composition with extension, slides its top when cables call, and rises electrically to 142 cm in the adjustable version. Service units, a round peninsula, meeting tables and a 190 cm multifunctional wardrobe complete the set. La Mercanti delivers Oxford to Indian offices with finishes confirmed in writing — the X on paper before the X in the cabin.

FAQ

What makes the X-leg structurally sound?
Two 38 mm wood-conglomerate panels cross and are joined by an 8 mm thick glossy aluminium spacer with dedicated hardware; leveller feet in aluminium-painted ABS keep the geometry true on uneven floors.
Can I mix X-leg and L-leg desks in one project?
Yes — both legs belong to the same system and share tops, finishes and dimensions, so a floor can vary the signature desk by desk without breaking the language.
How large does the desk composition get?
Fixed desks run 200 or 220 cm wide and 90 deep; with the lateral extension the composition reaches 230 or 250 cm wide and 210 cm deep — a full working L.
Is there a standing option for the same office?
The electric version rises from 77 to 142 cm on three-stage telescopic legs, with an optional memory pad — same finishes, same geometry, columns dressed in melamine housings.
What supports after-sales in India?
DVO states an 8-year warranty, 2 years on electrical components; La Mercanti coordinates specification and supply from Italy with finishes agreed before order.

How to choose your letter: X or L

X shows the structure; L calms it. Decide what the chair sees.
Check the crossing
The 8 mm aluminium spacer is the joint to inspect.
Level the floor out
Adjustable feet absorb what Indian floors improvise.
Match tops across legs
Same finishes on X and L keep the floor coherent.
Put it in writing
Leg type, width and finish confirmed before the order ships.
