The wobble of a chair is small engineering with a large audience: every visitor notices it. The Kata Chair deals with it at the source — its four-leg solid oak base is declared to come with height-adjustable glides, so the seat is levelled on the floor it actually stands on, not the one the drawing promised. In waiting rows, around tables, across older buildings with floors that have settled: each Kata finds its own level, and the row reads straight.

The family designed by Altherr Désile Park (2021) builds outward from there: the Chair with a plywood shell — textured wood or upholstered, with or without armrests — and the Kata Lounge, Arper's declared first solid wood lounge chair, in oak or robinia with a 3D knit shell from post-consumer recycled yarns, outdoor version included. Waiting and reception first; then lounge, hospitality, contract, collaborative work and the home office. For Indian projects, La Mercanti configures versions room by room, with delivery times confirmed in writing at order confirmation.

Which Kata version is declared for outdoor use?
Exactly one: the Lounge with teak-stained robinia frame and striped 3D knit. Oak frames and the graphic micro-padded knit are for indoor settings.
What does the FSC certification cover?
The manufacturer declares the collection FSC®-certified under code FSC-C148360 — a chain-of-custody reference for the wood, with outdoor versions using European species only.
Does the Chair come with or without armrests?
Both are declared: with armrests for longer waits and easier standing, without for tighter rows and table use. The optional seat cushion fits the comfort further.
How is the wooden frame cleaned?
With well-diluted neutral soap and a soft cloth in circular movements; commercial stain removers, wax, solvents and pressure washers are explicitly ruled out, and surfaces are always dried.
