Architect's design, object scale: Lutezia by Cea Design

Wilmotte & Industries, the design studio within Jean-Michel Wilmotte's practice, gives its own work a precise name: «architect's design» — characterised, in the studio's declared words, by great care over composition and a keen awareness of materials and finishes, with pure and simple lines conveying readability, coherence and authenticity. Lutezia by Cea Design is that method applied at object scale: a tap composed the way a building is composed.

The brief was architectural too: the collection was designed for the renovation of Hotel Lutetia in Paris, reinterpreting the early twentieth-century hydraulic valve with soft, rounded lines that the manufacturer declares as ergonomics and lightness. The material is AISI 316L stainless steel — satin, polished, or one of the four CEA special finishes (Black Diamond, Bronze, Copper, Light Gold), declared ecological and biocompatible.

The composition extends to the whole bathroom: four wall-mounted dual handle versions and three three-hole sets with swivel spout, thermostatic shower groups with shut-off valves or diverter, three bathtub routes including the free-standing column, a wide family of remote controls with declared endless combinations of spouts, shower heads and hand showers, plus the coordinated accessories collection and the Lutezia Plus single-handle extension.
