An archetype does not go out of fashion, which is the point

Every few years a bathroom style arrives, fills the magazines and then dates the rooms that adopted it. The way out of that cycle is older than the cycle itself. Icona Classic returns to the archetypal tap, the cross handle and the simple arc that everyone recognises instantly, and removes the rest.

We argue this openly with clients building for the long term. A bathroom is renovated once in fifteen or twenty years, so the only sensible question is which of today's shapes will still look deliberate in 2040. Ornament ages fastest, geometry survives, and a form already absorbed into common memory barely ages at all. The alternative within the same collection, Deco, takes a different route with a stylised geometry that stays clear of decoration. Designed by Vincent Van Duysen.
