Trade terms for professionals and design studios
On a fast fit-out, the feature wall is usually the first thing value-engineered away — too slow, too fiddly, too dependent on one artisan. Punto removes the excuse: its 31.5×4 cm listels arrive pre-spaced on meshes of five, twelve sheets to a box, so a bold dimensional wall goes up at the pace of ordinary tiling. Designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2021, it carries one dot per listel — raised on the Up texture, recessed on Down — and took Interior Design's Best of Year in 2022.
For Indian projects the arithmetic matters as much as the art: ten colours by two textures give twenty references from a single system, so reception, lift lobby and directors' washroom can share one language in different moods. It is a glazed pressed body for interior walls (UNI EN 14411, BIII) with class 5 stain resistance and A–B chemical resistance — tea, turmeric and cleaning crews included — plus 64% pre-consumer recycled content declared to ISO 14021 and VOC class A+ for green-rated buildings.
Best use: the wall that visitors and cameras face — behind reception, along the boardroom, in the club lounge — with Mutina's own catalogue pairing it to Pico porcelain floors by the same designers. At tiling speed, not artisan speed: the listels come pre-spaced on 21.1×31.5 cm meshes of five, twelve to a box, so the fixer lays sheets with a slow-setting adhesive and follows the joint the mesh has already drawn. The craft is in the mould and the glaze; the site work stays ordinary.
The declared numbers say yes for a wall product: stain resistance class 5 — the top of the ISO 10545/14 scale — and A–B resistance to acids and bases, so splashed chai, cleaning chemicals and hand-marks wipe off the glaze. It remains a wall tile for interiors; floors belong to porcelain like the Bouroullecs' own Pico.
