Every long table has a joint. The difference between a good one and a bad one is whether it was part of the drawing. On NoTable the tops are catalogued by sector: single sector up to a point, then two sectors, then three for the longest barrel top at 500 cm.

Stated plainly, this is the difference between a boardroom that gets furnished and one that gets argued about. A single-piece top of five metres has to clear the lift, the stair turn and the doorway, and in most buildings it does not. Declaring the division in the catalogue means the joint sits where the structure supports it, above the frame, rather than wherever the delivery team can manage. Why are long tops divided into sectors?
Because a five-metre panel cannot be carried into most buildings in one piece. Dividing the top is declared in the catalogue, so the division sits above the supporting frame instead of being improvised on site.
How many sectors does each size use?
Shorter tops are single sector, mid sizes come in two, and the longest barrel top at 500 cm is supplied in three. The same logic applies to the largest square and round tops.
Does the joint affect rigidity?
The under-top frame is continuous and carries the joint, which is why the division is planned rather than left to the top alone. The frame is built from extruded aluminium profiles tied by sheet-metal connectors.
What should be checked before ordering a long table?
Lift dimensions, stair turns, door widths and the final corridor. We ask for those measurements early, because they can change the sensible size before any finish is discussed.
Are the sectors visible in use?
There is a line, as on any large table. What is avoidable is a line in the wrong place, and that is exactly what specifying the sector layout in advance prevents.
