Euclideo by i4Mariani — where ebony is the standard

Read enough furniture price lists and you learn the grammar: the wood everyone wants sits at the top, priced as an aspiration. Euclideo rewrites that grammar — its standard veneer is ebony type. The dark, dense, striped surface that elsewhere costs an upgrade is here simply how the desk arrives. Anything else, from Macassar ebony to Santos rosewood, is a request, not a promotion.

The designer desk carrying this standard is Ferruccio Laviani's 2019 sculpture for i4Mariani: a cantilevered top and a storage block conceived as faceted solids that interpenetrate, in his own words, with volumes delimiting functions. One single body holds four drawers and a door unit; the black steel frame stays out of sight, and the steel element under the top is covered in leather — luxury applied where only the owner knows it exists.
