Three dyes of one wood: how Codutti Mithos changes character
Most executive collections offer a list of species: oak, walnut, ebony, and a decision that is really about budget. Mithos takes one wood — eucalyptus — and dyes it three ways: Cocoa, Desert and Carbon. The grain stays the same; what changes is the temperature of the room.
Cocoa is the warm, traditional register, paired in the catalogue with coffee or dove grey leather. Desert is pale and sand-toned, matched with pink. Carbon is close to black and goes with black or blue leather and Night lacquer. Working within one species has a practical consequence for a project in India: pieces ordered at different times still match, because there is no batch-to-batch variation between two different timbers, only the same eucalyptus under a different dye.
The collection is designed by Paolo Galeotti for Codutti, in business since 1954. La Mercanti works with Indian practices and corporate clients from the finish schedule through to delivery on site.

How large is the executive desk?
240 × 110 cm, 75 high, with an optional extension made entirely of wood. In a cabin where the desk faces the door, that extension changes the footprint on one side, so the clearance for visitors' chairs should be checked against the plan before ordering rather than after delivery.
What exactly is saddle stitching?
A stitch from saddlery, worked with two needles and two threads that cross inside the same hole. Its property is that a broken thread does not unravel the seam. On Mithos it is done by hand on the leather of the desk, the table sides and the armchair — which is also why the leatherwork is described as entrusted exclusively to craftsmen.
Are there pieces for the waiting area?
Yes: a side table at 130 × 60 × 48 cm, an armchair fully covered in leather with a black matt base, and accessories including a tray, a desk lampshade and an ashtray. The catalogue treats the waiting area as one of four settings alongside the executive office, the home office and the meeting room.
Can cables be managed on the desk?
Three ways: multi-sockets, an induction charger and a cable door covered in leather with a brush trim. The sockets themselves are not included, so the electrical specification has to be agreed at order stage — it is the detail that most often ends up as a trailing extension lead across the floor.

An Italian manufacturer active since 1954, describing itself as craftsman and industrial producer at the same time, and working across executive and operative furniture, seating and partition walls. Mithos belongs to its executive line and is designed by Paolo Galeotti.
How to keep a scheme consistent when it is bought in stages
Corporate interiors are rarely ordered in one go. Five steps so the second phase does not look like a different company.
Fix the wood dye first
Cocoa, Desert or Carbon: recorded once, at the top of the schedule, and repeated on every subsequent order. It is the single decision that holds a staged project together.
Write down the leather code
Coffee, pink, black, dove grey or blue, with its reference. Colour names travel badly between purchase orders; codes do not.
Photograph the installed pieces
A record of what is already in place, under the room's own light, is what a supplier needs to match a later addition — far more useful than a description.
Order the visible rooms together
Reception, boardroom and the chairman's office are seen in sequence by every visitor. If the budget forces phases, those three belong in the same phase.
Keep the configuration on file
