The reception shelf is where an office actually touches its visitors: keys dropped, badges slid across, parcels signed. On Lux, that surface can be glass-ceramic — a 0.6 cm ceramic sheet bonded to a 0.6 cm glass pane, bevelled at 45 degrees on every side. Ceramic hardness where the scratches would happen, glass precision where the eye looks. It is the most honest answer a counter can give to years of daily transactions.

Designed by Gianantonio Perin and Monica Fernandes for Bralco's RE.AC line, Lux builds the rest of the desk to the same durability logic: thick melamine fronts and legs with an antibacterial surface, ABS edges, 45-degree steel joints, an aluminium plinth with adjustable feet for uneven floors. The shelf line sits at 111.2 cm in elements of 80, 120 and 160 cm; perimeter LED light at 4000 K glows from the steel supports, dimmable by zones. Widths scale across three ranges up to 400 cm — from a compact studio desk to a full corporate lobby.

Underneath, lockable drawers double as anti-tip ballast and top access units bring mains and USB A/C to hand. La Mercanti details every Lux for Indian projects on a dimensioned drawing confirmed in writing — because the surface that meets every guest should be chosen once, and chosen hard.

Why choose glass-ceramic for a reception shelf?
Because that shelf takes the office's hardest daily traffic: keys, badges, parcels. Lux bonds a 0.6 cm ceramic sheet to a 0.6 cm glass pane with a 45-degree bevel — ceramic hardness on the working face, glass cleanliness in the look.
What other shelf materials does Lux offer?
Melamine with ABS edges, or wood veneer over a 12 mm core with a solid-timber perimeter edge — seven oak finishes from natural to Carbon. All hook onto legs or fronts with steel brackets, in elements of 80, 120 and 160 cm.
Can the same counter work for a small office now and a bigger lobby later?

How is the lighting controlled?
Dimmable buttons in a tray between the supports drive the zones separately: side LEDs, centre LEDs and the lower horizontal blade, all at 4000 K on plug-in 12 V wiring.
Is the structure safe on a busy floor?
The drawer units — always with lock and soft close — bracket to the underside and act as anti-tip ballast for the whole counter, and the aluminium plinth's adjustable feet level the structure on imperfect floors.
