Visitors decide about a company in the lobby, long before the meeting room. Nice by Las Mobili, designed by Studio Si, gives that first judgement a stage worth passing: towards the guest, horizontal decorative bands in 3d-foil wood, rear-lacquered tempered glass or white polycarbonate with LED backlighting, framed in satin-chrome extruded aluminium; towards the operator, a genuine console — 25 mm worktops, cable trays and lockable storage — built for reception work that never pauses.
Everything is modular: 50 mm supporting side panels with satin-chrome edge profiles, 25 mm 3d-foil worktops with perforations for cable crossing along the edges meeting the vertical panel, carried by a 50 x 15 mm Silver epoxy steel beam or by storage units acting as supports. In the manufacturer's own words, the system is designed for compositions of great complexity and strong visual impact — one language from a compact two-metre counter to the long welcome line of a campus lobby. A section can drop to desk height with the central speak-through modules at 73.6 cm — the spot where a guest pulls up a chair, signs and talks at eye level.
The working side of the welcome
Facing the visitor, the counter shelf comes as 25 mm wood over a satin-chrome aluminium decorative under-profile or as 12 mm tempered glass, polished edges, on turned stainless-steel supports — Satin White, rear-lacquered Black or Extra White. Under the top, bent-metal cable trays (0.7 mm, matt Black, White or Stone Grey) mounted on the front panel take the electrification kits and every excess metre of cable that reception hardware brings. Every storage unit locks — hinged door, or extractable drawer with sheet-metal structure and top basket — and carries a finishing top in wood or tempered glass. Compose it, don't buy it fixed. Nice builds from 50 mm side panels, 25 mm worktops on a 50 x 15 mm steel beam and storage units that also act as supports — a kit the manufacturer describes as made for compositions of great complexity and strong visual impact. A compact counter for today's office extends into a longer front line at the next address, keeping the same finishes and profiles.
Match the register to the brand and the light. 3d-foil wood — Grey Elm to Bali Walnut — reads warm and established; rear-lacquered glass in Black or Extra White reads precise and formal; the white polycarbonate band with LED backlighting makes the counter glow, a real asset in lobbies with low or evening light. All bands share one satin-chrome aluminium frame, so mixing registers stays clean.
Into the counter's own service layer. Worktop edges adjoining the vertical panel are perforated for cable crossing; bent-metal cable trays — 0.7 mm, matt Black, White or Stone Grey — mount under the top on the front panel and hold electrification kits and every excess metre. The visitor sees the composed front; phones, badge hardware and screens work out of sight.
It brings part of the counter down to desk height — 73.6 cm, as declared by the manufacturer. That is where a guest signs the register, where a seated visitor is welcomed at eye level, and where conversations happen without the barrier of a high counter — while the rest of the composition keeps screens and paperwork private.
With lockable storage — hinged door with adjustable shelf or extractable drawer with sheet-metal structure and top basket — always completed by a wood or tempered-glass finishing top, plus cable trays under the worktop. Physical finish samples are available and their cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed: approve the front under your lobby's own light before production.
For admin heads and architects: five Nice decisions that make the welcome desk actually work.
Peak visitors, operator positions, metres available: Nice composes side panels, worktops and supporting storage into counters of very different lengths. Decide the module logic first, so the desk can follow the company's growth.
Choose the band mix — warm 3d-foil wood, formal rear-lacquered glass, or the LED-backlit white band that turns the counter into a lantern. One satin-chrome frame keeps mixed registers coherent.
Specify perforated worktops, cable trays with electrification kits under the top and lockable storage with its finishing top. Reception hardware — phones, badges, screens — must run without one visible wire.
Position the 73.6 cm speak-through module where documents are signed and seated guests are received: eye-level welcome in one section, privacy everywhere else.
Judge physical samples under your lobby lighting — their cost is fully credited at order confirmation — then fix in writing band types, shelf material, storage layout and module sequence.
