Large projects rarely need one boss chair; they need one chair that behaves differently in nine rooms. Kriteria answers with the base list: black, white or grey nylon, steel with a polypropylene cap, polished aluminium, painted aluminium in black or white, versions with chromed column and castors, and two four-star bases with glides for seats that stay put — which the manufacturer explicitly excludes on tilting versions.

Above the base nothing changes: curved beech shells in non-deforming polyurethane, upholstered arms integrated into the seat, three backrests — high with wings, high without, medium — and sixteen covering collections. The declared standard is EN 1335 type C, tested to the edition in force at the time of testing.

How many bases are available?
Nine five-star swivel bases in nylon, steel and aluminium, plus two four-star versions with glides. Diameters run from 654 to 730 mm depending on the version.
When should the glide base be chosen?
For seats that should hold their position — meeting and visitor posts. Kastel excludes it on tilting versions, so the mechanism decides first.
What are the three backrests?
High with wings, high without wings, and medium. Wings close the upper back around the shoulders; without them the profile reads flatter.
Which coverings suit heavy institutional use?
The faux leathers rated at 150,000 to 300,000 Martindale cycles, several with antimicrobial treatment and water resistance, are the usual choice for shared posts.
Can samples be seen before committing?
Yes. La Mercanti arranges the Kastel sample cards, and the sampling cost is credited in full at order confirmation.
