A floor gets furnished in March and extended in September, and the second delivery is where projects go wrong. The Kuna range makes that easy to avoid, provided one habit is followed: the model code carries the mechanism, and the collection name carries nothing.

Nine codes cover three families. KUNA.708, .710 and .715 are fixed height with the auto-return mechanism. KUNA.709, .713 and .718 swivel and adjust in height. KUNA.714T, .717T and .719T adjust and add the tilt mechanism. Write «Kuna Chair, black leather» on a purchase order and any of the nine can arrive; write the code and only one can.

Two more lines finish the job: the aluminium finish, 47 polished or 55 chrome, which covers frame, base and armrests together, and the leather colour, one of four. Everything else stays constant across the range — 60 cm wide and 48 cm deep, with a leather panel held suspended around the padded structure. La Mercanti supplies Kuna Chair across India with samples and the finish schedule agreed before the order.

Technical information based on data declared by the manufacturer.

Collection: Kuna Chair
Manufacturer: ICF Office — ICF S.p.A., Vignate (Milan), Italy
Frame: steel tubular sections forming a rigid construction that holds its shape under considerable stress; exposed load-bearing elements in die-cast aluminium, finish 47 polished or 55 chrome; three back heights
Back and seat: leather panel wrapped around the padded load-bearing structure over variable-density polyurethane foam sheets; the panel remains suspended, distributing body weight evenly
Armrests: closed form in die-cast aluminium, finish matched to the frame; optional leather covering; can be omitted without compromising the integrity of the chair
Leather: four colours — S01 black, S02 white, S03 dark brown, S05 Bulgarian red
Models: KUNA.708, .710, .715 fixed height with auto-return mechanism; .709, .713, .718 swivel, height-adjustable; .714T, .717T, .719T height-adjustable with tilt mechanism
Dimensions: width 60 cm and depth 48 cm across all nine models; overall height from 83 to 133 cm depending on model and back height; seat height 48 cm on fixed-height models, 43-54 cm on adjustable models, 44-56 cm on tilt models
Height adjustment: pneumatic unit with lever, maximum travel 12 cm; gas lift compliant with EN 16955:2017
Auto-return mechanism: not height-adjustable; the swivel seat turns freely and returns automatically to the front-facing position; standard on four-star base models
Tilt mechanism: seat pivot point set well forward of the gas column axis to reduce pressure on the lower limbs while tilting; up to 13 degrees; side knob adjusts balance spring tension to the user's weight and sitting style; lever controls combine seat height, locking and unlocking the tilt in four positions, and the safety lock
Base: four or five-star in die-cast aluminium, chrome or polished to match the frame; with castors or glides
Castors and glides: castors in black plastic, 50 mm diameter, soft central element for use on any floor, safety brake compliant with EN 12529:2001, chromed zamak top cover; hard-tread castors available on request; glides in black nylon, 37 mm diameter, with a soft rubber central element
Weight and materials: approximately 12.4 kg; aluminium 48 percent, metal 28 percent, miscellaneous 24 percent; approximately 77 percent recyclable when components are separated completely and correctly; every component can be disassembled for repair, reuse and recycling; no formaldehyde and no hexavalent chromium; eco-design guidelines. Figures refer to model KUNA.708 and may vary by model, structural materials and finishes
Certification: EN 16139:2013 level 1, declaration of conformity no. 11108 of 13 January 2014 on KUNA 715 following tests to EN 16139, EN 1728 and EN 1335; ANSI-BIFMA X5.1, CATAS test report on KUNA MID BACK 708
Care: leather is a natural product and the wrinkles and scars on the grain attest to its origin and quality rather than being defects; avoid direct light so the leather does not dry out or harden. Aluminium: soft cloth with water and neutral soap, never solvents, thinners, alcohol, abrasive or chemical cleaners or polishing sprays; chrome aluminium keeps its brightness over time, polished aluminium undergoes a natural oxidation process. Only trained personnel may replace or repair the gas lift
Not declared by the manufacturer: load ratings, warranty terms, lead times

FAQ

What has to be written on the purchase order?
Four things: the model code, the aluminium finish, the leather colour and whether armrests are included. The code is the one that carries the mechanism and the base — the collection name carries none of it.
How are the nine codes organised?
Three families. KUNA.708, .710 and .715 are fixed height with the auto-return mechanism; .709, .713 and .718 swivel and adjust in height; .714T, .717T and .719T adjust and add the tilt mechanism.
What stays the same across the whole range?
Width 60 cm and depth 48 cm on all nine models, and the construction: a leather panel wrapped around the padded structure and left suspended, on exposed die-cast aluminium. Only height and mechanism change.
Can two phases be ordered a year apart and still match?
Yes, if the finish schedule was written down the first time. With four leather colours and two metal finishes, that is two lines — and it is the difference between a matched floor and a visible join.
Which version suits a meeting room?
The fixed-height codes with the auto-return mechanism, standard on four-star bases: the seat turns freely and comes back to face the table on its own.

Writing a purchase order a second supplier could not misread

Five lines that make phase two identical to phase one.

Start from the code, not the name
KUNA.708 and KUNA.713 are the same collection and different chairs. The code is the only part that settles it.
Add the aluminium finish on its own line
47 polished or 55 chrome, applied to frame, base and armrests together.
Add the leather colour by reference
S01, S02, S03 or S05 rather than a description. Dark brown means one thing to you and another to a warehouse.
State the armrest choice explicitly
Aluminium, leather-covered, or none. Silence on this line is what produces surprises on delivery.
Keep the schedule for the next phase
One page filed now saves a floor that reads as two purchases later.
