There is a Parlament with its seams in a thread that stands out from the cover, and it is made only when asked for. Ares Line lists contrast stitching as the first of two optional accessories, and in the catalogue photograph it runs as a light line along the padded edge of the headrest. It is the detail an MD notices across the cabin before sitting down, and the reason, among the Italian boss chairs we bring to India, to write a second line on the order.
Underneath, the construction does not change with the thread. Ares Line builds seat and back from beech plywood and pads them with self-extinguishing polyurethane; the standard back already carries stitched seams, and on the 5015 a padded headrest wraps the crown of the back. The seat measures 65 cm across on every model. For the arms there is a closed version, birch plywood with upholstery over a steel support, and three open ones with a soft touch elastomer finish. The design is by BaccoliniDesign.
Three models, one cabin plan. The 5015, with the headrest, is the chair at the MD's desk; the 5045, low back on castors, takes the second seat of the cabin of the managing director; the 5045R, low back on a four-spoke star of polished aluminium with nylon feet and a fixed 85 cm height, is the one the catalogue shows seated round a meeting table and the one we place for visitors facing the desk, or, when a reception needs the same presence, in the waiting area; conference halls with a bench take the T&T floor-fixed version. La Mercanti matches the stitching thread to the upholstery sample in daylight before confirming the chair.

The 5045R. Its four-spoke base in polished aluminium rests on nylon feet, with no gas lift: the seat stays at 45 cm and the top of the low back at 85 cm, so every chair of this model in a room is the same height as the next. That is why the Ares Line catalogue photographs four of them around a meeting table, and why it is the model to put facing the MD's desk for visitors: nobody adjusts it, nobody rolls it away, and the row looks the same at day's end as at its start.
No, and the difference is written on the data sheet rather than left to the dealer. The self-braking swivel castors on the five-spoke base of the 5015 and the 5045 come in nylon for soft flooring or with a polyurethane tread for hard flooring; the same base can also be ordered on fixed nylon feet. A cabin carpeted at the desk and tiled at the door needs the floor named on the order, not the chair alone, otherwise the castor fitted is the wrong one for the surface it spends its day on.
On page 20, at the very front of the Office section of the Seating Collection 2026, ahead of the Trendy family, the Link family, Dotway, Zero7 and Janus. For a company founded in Thiene in 1987, which in 1997 became the first Italian seating manufacturer certified ISO 9001, opening the office chapter with this chair says which product it considers the face of its workplace range. On an Indian order that position is a useful shorthand for a buyer who has never seen the catalogue.
It is the manufacturer's name for the safety device fitted to each of the three synchron multiblock mechanisms, together with multi-position locking and tilt adjustment. The user sets how far the chair rocks, locks it in the position chosen, and the anti-return safety system completes the set. Ares Line lists the three together on every version of the mechanism, so the MD gets them whichever synchron is ordered.
Yes: the second optional accessory on the Ares Line sheet is a seat cushion with integrated micro-springs, which the manufacturer offers for extra comfort, and the catalogue photographs the springs exposed beneath the cushion. It sits on the beech plywood seat in place of the standard padding alone, on any of the three models, and it is specified chair by chair: the MD's 5015 can have it while the visitors' 5045R keep the standard cushion, on the same order.
From the weight on the carton label to the chair at the MD's desk: five points taken from the Ares Line data sheet, so that a facility team knows where each Parlament goes on delivery day.
Each Parlament arrives at 20 to 28 kg depending on the model and the arms fitted, in a declared volume of 0.34 m³ for the 5015 and 0.25 m³ for the 5045 and the 5045R. The label tells the two people carrying it what they are lifting, and the volume tells the one booking the lift which cartons travel together.
The four-spoke model is the first to place, because it is the one that never moves: polished aluminium star, nylon feet, seat fixed at 45 cm and overall height at 85 cm. The Ares Line catalogue shows four of them around a meeting table in a glass-walled room, and that is the arrangement to copy, one chair per side or two along the long edges.
The low-back model on castors stands 88 to 101 cm tall with its seat between 45 and 58 cm, and it is the chair for the second workstation in the cabin or for the assistant's desk outside it. It arrives on the five-spoke base already fitted with the castors or feet named on the order, so on the day it only needs to be rolled into place.
Last comes the tall backrest with headrest, 124 to 137 cm from the floor, castors fitted, its gas lift covering 45 to 58 cm of seat height. This one stands at the MD's desk, and the padded top that wraps the back is the part of the family that stands above the desk when the cabin is seen from the door.
Whichever model stands where, all three share a seat 65 cm wide, so the cabin reads as one family rather than three purchases. Walking the room at the end, the only differences left to see are the ones Ares Line intended: the headrest on the 5015, the castors under the 5045, the fixed star under the 5045R.
