Turn most executive chairs upside down and the design stops. There is a black plastic box under the seat, and the elegance that was promised above the armrests ends there. On Radar, Frezza states it plainly: all mechanisms are concealed inside the shell. The tilt that gives 7° back and 4° forward, the lockable version worked by a lever on the left, the auto-return that swivels 180° each way – none of them have a housing of their own. What the room sees is one continuous sculpted volume; what the sitter feels is a chair that moves.
That choice explains how far the shape travels. Because the mechanism is internal, one volume can be a high-backed executive chair with a headrest, or drop to a low back for meetings and for guests, or lose its castors and become a lounge armchair in four volumes, or widen into a two-seater sofa, or break into six pouf modules, or thin down to a table at 55 and 65 cm. The designers are Claesson Koivisto Rune of Stockholm; the factory is Frezza in Italy, certified to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001. In a growing office a chair is moved far more often than it is bought, which is why nothing underneath should catch.
