Indian commercial projects punish surfaces: monsoon humidity, hard water, heavy footfall, housekeeping on a schedule. Aurore by Mutina takes that brief with the quietest possible face — a 20.5×20.5 cm glazed porcelain drawn in 2025 by Vincent Van Duysen from the memory of chalk grids on pavements. The performance underneath is anything but nostalgic: stain resistance class 5, the top of the scale, resistance to acids and bases class A, water absorption 0.07% — manufacturer-declared numbers that decide how a floor looks after its third year, not its third week.

The range holds four colours — Charcoal, Light Grey, Light Blue, Light Green — each in a solid plus two woven patterns, Grid S and Grid L, that mix tone-on-tone or in contrast. The glaze is blended with micronised glass-ceramics: anti-glare under strong light, soft to the touch, and slip-rated R11 with barefoot class C and DCOF 0.74 for wet zones.

Declared use is floor and wall, indoor and outdoor, with thermal-shock resistance: washrooms and executive toilets, spa and gym wet areas, cafeteria walls, reception fronts, and the covered verandah where the same grid can simply continue. Three, all manufacturer-declared: stain resistance class 5 (the maximum), acids and bases class A - hard water and strong housekeeping chemicals included - and water absorption of 0.07%. Together they mean the washroom floor of year three still photographs like the handover shots, which is what facility heads actually budget for.
Can Aurore continue outdoors onto a covered verandah or courtyard?
Yes - the declared use is floor and wall, indoor and outdoor, with thermal-shock resistance to ISO 10545/9. In most Indian climates the constraint is heat and rain rather than frost, and the 0.07% absorption plus class A chemical resistance handle both. One grid can run from the lobby washrooms out to the verandah without a material change.
Is the surface safe for wet barefoot areas like spa and gym showers?
