Indian offices rarely lack ambition; they lack wall. Compact receptions, lift lobbies, corridor ends — surfaces of a few square meters that still have to announce the company. Rombini in the Extra Small profile is built for exactly that job: eight slim battens on every mesh sheet, a 2 cm rib repeating at pencil spacing, so even a narrow wall reads as crafted architecture rather than leftover paint.

Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec drew the triangular profile for Mutina in three scales — the dense Extra Small at 16 mm thick, Small and Large at 22 — with ten glazes across matt, gloss and crackle. Pressed in a dedicated 3D mould and mounted on mesh, the battens also follow curved surfaces, and purpose-made Terminal and Listello pieces close every edge. The collection carries the Archiproducts Design Award 2016.

Performance is quietly reassuring for high-use lobbies: ISO 10545 stain resistance in class 5, acids and alkalis at A-B, and a LEED v4.1 declaration of 64% recycled material. La Mercanti ships Rombini to Indian projects with sampling sorted upfront — sample costs fully credited on order confirmation.

FAQ

Which Rombini size suits a compact reception wall?
Extra Small, almost every time: eight battens per sheet at 2 cm spacing make the relief dense enough to feel precious at arm's length, which is exactly how small lobbies are experienced. Small and Large earn their place on longer walls seen from a distance.
Can Rombini support a green-building submission?
Yes — the collection is declared under LEED v4.1 with 64% recycled material, and Mutina issues VOC, HPD, SDS and BPD3 documentation on request. For projects chasing certification points, the paper trail arrives ready for the consultant's checklist.
Is Rombini suitable for bathroom walls?
For wall cladding in interiors, yes — that is its declared use, and washrooms are a natural home for it. For shower enclosures or other wet-duty specifics, confirm suitability on the manufacturer's documentation for the individual project.
How do we evaluate Rombini before specifying it?
Order a real box: half a square meter of mesh-mounted battens is enough to mock up a corner under your actual lighting. Judge the shadow, the glaze, the joint rhythm — and the sample cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed.
Which technical documents come with Rombini?
The UNI EN 14411 classification, ISO 10545 test values, and the sustainability set — LEED v4.1, VOC, HPD, SDS, BPD3 — all downloadable directly from this product page. Project-specific standards are confirmed case by case on the manufacturer's documentation.

A small wall with maximum presence

Five steps to turn a few square meters of lobby or corridor into the most photographed surface in the office.

Pick the wall people actually face
In compact spaces one wall does the talking: behind the reception desk, facing the lift doors, ending the corridor. Give Rombini that wall and leave the others quiet.
Go dense on short viewing distances
Choose Extra Small where visitors stand within two meters: the fine rib rewards close viewing. Save wider profiles for walls read from across a room.
Use colour as wayfinding
A single saturated glaze — matt Green, gloss Rose, crackle Brun — marks the wall as a destination. Keep adjoining surfaces neutral so the relief stays the protagonist.
Count trims with the drawing
Small walls live or die on their edges. Terminal pieces and the glazed-edge Listello are modular with the battens, so quantities come off the drawing precisely — no site improvisation.
Sample under your own lights
Mock up one box on site before ordering: lobby lighting changes how glazes read. The sample cost is fully credited at order confirmation, so the test is standard practice, not a luxury.
