Every boardroom needs a place for what is not on the table, and most collections leave that problem to a cabinet from another catalogue. Ginza answers it with the Tower: a chest 60 × 60 cm at the base and 145 cm tall, with seven drawers stacked one above the other and no handles, because the fronts open by pressure — push-pull, in Codutti's words. It is built with the same structural panels as the table, so the drawer fronts can be lacquered under a top of Roman travertine, or the whole piece can be one material, and it stands against the wall like a column rather than a cupboard.

Around it the collection stays consistent: the conference table of 240 × 90 × 74 cm, a round table of 120 cm at a lower 70 cm, two coffee tables at 40 cm, all with the rounded edges that Barbieri Magalini chose as the signature of a design «inspired by Japanese rationalism». Codutti places the Tower in offices and in homes alike. Which two versions of the Ginza conference table exist?
Codutti's 2025 price list offers Ginza in Roman travertine with lacquer and in solid wood with lacquer. The dimensions are the same in both: the meeting table measures 240 × 90 cm and stands 74 cm high.
Why does the base have no legs?
Because the structure of the whole collection is «obtained from the combination of structural panels». Under the table two panels meet, off-centre in the manufacturer's photographs, and carry the top; the same principle shapes the round table and the coffee tables.
Is the round table meant for the same room?
It can be. The 120 cm round is 70 cm high, four centimetres lower than the conference table, and Codutti photographs it with armchairs. In a large boardroom it works as the informal corner where a conversation continues after the meeting.
Is the wood version solid wood or veneer?
The price list calls the second family «solid wood and lacquered», explicitly. Which species Codutti uses is not stated in the documents available; La Mercanti confirms it with the manufacturer before a sample is sent.
What does Codutti say about the Ginza Coffee Table?
That it is a smaller version «with the same modular structure» as the table. There are two formats, 60 × 60 cm and 120 × 60 cm, both 40 cm high, which sit naturally next to the round table in a waiting or lounge area.

How to check a Ginza conference table on the day it arrives

Stone and lacquer travel well when they are packed for it, and the moment to look at them is before the installers leave. A checklist for the Ginza delivery in an Indian office.

Count the packages against the order
A Ginza order arrives as separate pieces: the top, the structural panels of the base, and, if ordered, the Tower and the coffee tables. Tick each one against the La Mercanti order sheet before anything is unwrapped.
Inspect the rounded edges first
The stondature — the rounded corners and edges — are the signature of Ginza and the part most exposed in transit. Run a hand along the four corners of the top and the edges of each panel while the packaging is still at hand.
Read the travertine as stone, not as a defect
Roman travertine is a natural stone: veins and small open pores are part of the material. Compare the delivered top with the sample La Mercanti approved with you, not with a photograph.
Check that the base panels sit where the plan says
The two panels of the Ginza base are positioned off-centre and give the table its orientation. Verify against the floor plan that the stone panel and the lacquered panel are on the agreed sides before the top is placed.
Photograph each piece in place and sign
Once the Ginza top rests on its panels, photograph the table and every other piece from the door of the room and sign the delivery sheet. La Mercanti keeps the photographs with the order file and forwards any remark to Codutti the same day.
