In Indian corporate culture the director's office still speaks through its walls: a panelled room signals continuity, seniority, permanence. Metar gives that tradition an Italian grammar. Its boiserie runs continuous from 58 to 308 cm in width and up to 268,8 cm in height, carrying shelving modules where they serve — a wall that is architecture, storage and credential at once.

The rest of the room follows the same standard. The executive desk — 220 to 240 cm long, a full metre deep — carries a stitched leather insert and integrated wiring; bookcase towers rise to 270,6 cm on a precise 38,4 cm module; sideboards come in three lengths. Design is by Gianantonio Perin and Giorgio Topan for Bralco's EXE executive line, manufactured in Susegana, Treviso.

Materials give the wall its register: seven oak finishes from Carbon to tobacco, matt lacquers, ecomalta mineral surfaces, matt tempered glass and metal details in shadow grey or pink copper. For Indian head offices and campuses, La Mercanti prepares the full Metar specification on Bralco's official abacus — the panelled office, documented panel by panel.

FAQ

How flexible is the Metar wall panelling?
It is a continuous system: widths run from 58 to 308 cm and heights reach 268,8 cm, with shelving modules mounted directly on the panels. The wall is measured to the room — including the walls Indian offices often share with meeting suites.
Does the panelling match the rest of the furniture?
Exactly — same seven oaks, same lacquers, same metal details in shadow grey or pink copper as the desk, tables and sideboards. The room reads as one project, not assembled pieces.
What defines the Metar director desk?
Scale and detail together: 220 to 240 cm long, one metre deep, fixed 75 cm height, with a leather insert stitched into the top, integrated wiring and the collection's own handle design. Designed by Gianantonio Perin and Giorgio Topan.
Which meeting formats does the collection offer?
Long tables at 280, 360 and 440 cm — the last one seats a full board — plus round tables at 120 and 160 cm for smaller counsel. All share the desk's finish palette.
Where is Metar manufactured?
By Bralco in Susegana, Treviso — Italy's office-furniture district. The catalogue documents every module, from the 38,4 cm vertical grid of the bookcases to the boiserie widths.

Panelling a director's office without making it a museum: the Metar sequence

For admin heads and architects fitting out leadership floors in India: five steps to get gravitas from the walls while keeping the room working every day.

Choose the wall that speaks
Panel the wall guests face — behind the desk — and measure it honestly: the boiserie cuts from 58 to 308 cm, so the panelling ends where the architecture says, not where stock sizes do.
Load the panels, not the floor
Mount shelving modules on the boiserie for awards, references and files in daily reach. Floor space stays free for the desk's metre of depth and the guest chairs.
Set two heights only
Keep sideboards at one height — 60,6 or 74 cm — and towers at one height, up to 270,6. Two clean lines read as order; five read as clutter.
Warm the palette deliberately
Tobacco oak with pink copper details warms the formality; Carbon with shadow grey cools it toward finance. Decide the register first, then assign finishes.
Document the room as one code list
Every panel, module and finish sits in Bralco's abacus. La Mercanti compiles that list for each Metar project — so the office that impresses today can be extended, identically, tomorrow.
