Anyone who has cleared a hall in Mumbai or Bengaluru knows the sound: shells scraping shells as the columns rise. Arper engineered that sound away. The cushioned versions of Juno 02 include an under-seat guard — the maker calls it stacking protection — so when twenty chairs become one column after a seminar or a wedding lunch, the shell below stays unmarked. Furniture that piles up daily needs exactly this kind of invisible detail to still look new in year five.

The chair itself is James Irvine's 2012 silhouette, moulded today in polypropylene made at 70% with post-industrial recycled material through a redesigned mould. Six nature-drawn colours, an open backrest, an armchair version that keeps the line while using less material, cushions applied without glue, and a removable cushion for the courtyard season. Glides for different floors come as standard, and the whole collection is GS certified to EN 16139:2013 level L2. La Mercanti delivers Juno 02 across India with fabric samples ahead of the order.
