Let's discuss your project

Bespoke: size, colour, finish

A growing company buys desks in waves — and usually ends up with a floor that looks like an archive of past procurements. 5th Element by Las Mobili, designed by Studio Si, is built against exactly that: one structural DNA — the trapezoidal drawn-steel leg, 58 x 50 mm, 2 mm thick, beams of 50 x 15 mm, coupling screws hidden under moulded ABS carters — generating workstations, shared desking-bench, team tables H 105 with chromed footrest, meeting tables and even the executive desk with chromed loop legs and 10 mm rear-lacquered glass top. Wave after wave, everything still matches.

The operative range chooses between bridge legs and inclined gantry legs — same beams, different silhouette — with tops in eight finishes and every panel Class E1 low formaldehyde, as declared by the manufacturer: not a small point when a hundred panels share one floor of air. The executive glass tops come in Black, Grey Beige and White on turned stainless supports, so seniority changes the finish, never the family.

One bar, three problems solved

The bench's central extruded aluminium bar hinges tip-up top accesses with a cable brush and a magnet that locks onto the frontal sound-absorbing panels: cables, access and acoustics handled in a single component. Shared 50 x 50 mm legs take optional WIRE MANAGER panelling; trays hang on the beams; service units and PC towers double as structural desk supports. Pedestals arrive assembled on braked wheels — add the Gabriel-fabric cushion and the guest seat problem is solved too. Product certificates can be downloaded on this page.

When it is the right choice

  • One design language from the bench to the director cabin: trapezoidal 58 x 50 mm legs, chromed on the executive tables with a 10 mm glass top.

FAQ

What is the fifth element in the name?

The structure that binds the office's four tables — workstation, bench, team, meeting — into one family. A trapezoidal drawn-steel leg of 58 x 50 mm with 2 mm walls, 50 x 15 mm beams with printed steel plates, and ABS carters that hide every coupling screw. Buy desks in waves as you grow: wave three still matches wave one.

Does the family really cover the executive office too?

Yes — that is its rarest feature in this category. The same geometry that carries the operative bench offers, for direction, CHROMED bridge or loop legs and a 10 mm rear-lacquered tempered glass top in Black, Grey Beige or White on turned stainless supports. Careers move up; the design language stays put; facilities keeps one supplier and one spare-parts logic.

What is the difference between bridge and gantry legs?

Character, not capability. The trapezoidal bridge leg gives the bench a grounded, technical stance; the inclined gantry in extruded steel makes the same top read lighter, almost like a drafting trestle. Beams, trays and accessories are identical, and both hide their assembly under moulded ABS carters.

How does the central bar work on the bench?

As one component solving three problems. The extruded aluminium bar hinges tip-up top accesses fitted with a cable brush — open them at any point and the whole substructure is reachable — plus a magnet that locks the flap onto the frontal sound-absorbing panels. Below it: trays on the beams, optional WIRE MANAGER panelling on the 50 x 50 mm shared legs, hanging PC-tower holders.

Why does the Class E1 declaration matter, and what about seating guests?

Because a floor of desks is also a floor of panels sharing the office air: every panel here is declared Class E1 low formaldehyde by the manufacturer. As for guests — the wheeled pedestal arrives assembled, brakes on the front wheels, and takes a Gabriel-fabric cushion (30 mm foam) that turns it into the extra seat every huddle lacks. Finish and fabric samples are available; the cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed.

How to buy desks in waves without losing the floor's coherence

For office managers of growing companies: five 5th Element decisions that survive every hiring round.

Map the four tables before the first order

Singles, bench runs, standing team tables H 105, meeting tables — plus the executive desks above them. One structural family covers them all, so the map becomes a single recurring order instead of five procurements.

Fix the leg type per area

Trapezoidal bridge legs for the operative floor, inclined gantries where lightness matters, chromed loop legs with glass tops for direction. Write it down: future waves must repeat it.

Standardise the spine

Central aluminium bar with tip-up top accesses (brush + magnet on the acoustic panels) on every bench run; WIRE MANAGER panelling at the power risers; trays on the beams; service units as desk supports where PCs are heavy.

Add the huddle furniture now

An H 105 team table with chromed footrest and a few cushioned pedestals cost little in wave one and prevent the meeting-room bottleneck of wave three.

Approve samples, then freeze the standard

Check melamine, painted steel and glass under your lighting with physical samples — the cost is fully credited at order confirmation. Then freeze tops, leg types, structure colour and top-access positions in writing: that document is what keeps wave five matching wave one.
