Anyone who has answered email from a lounge sofa knows the compromise: the laptop heats the knees, the wrists find no line, the session ends early. Steeve Lou offers a piece designed exactly for that moment — a laptop cushion, upholstered like the rest of the collection and topped with a plywood tablet in reconstituted oak or walnut. It turns an informal seat into a workable position without importing a desk into the lounge, which matters in Indian offices and campuses where soft seating carries a genuine share of the working day.
Around it, the collection is built for long service: a free-standing two- or three-seat sofa on a single T-leg, side tables integrated right or left, a matching ottoman, high backrests, an ergonomic seat depth and new cushioning foams. It belongs to Steeve, the modular system Jean-Marie Massaud designed in 2015 — bench, armchair and sofa, central, end and corner modules, external structure in exposed wood or fully upholstered. From lounges and waiting areas to restaurants, break rooms and homes: La Mercanti delivers both collections across India with samples ahead of the order.
