Indian interiors love a defined floor — the rug that zones a lobby, warms a lounge, marks the tea corner. And every facilities team knows the rug's fate: it curls, stains, slides and gets replaced. Dintorni fires the rug into the floor: Dama checks, Bandiere flags and Scala ladders in glazed porcelain squares of 20.5×20.5 — zoning a space permanently, with stain class 5 against chai and turmeric and colours that never fade because they are fired glaze.

The numbers do what no textile can: R11, DIN 51097 class C, DCOF 0.74 — declared on the patterned format itself — so the ceramic rug works in wet zones, spa floors and around pools; frost resistance takes it to terraces. Inga Sempé (2025, Mutina's newest collection) drew each pattern in three light temperatures — Neve, Sole, Ombra — plus five solids from Verde Chiaro to Terracotta for the surrounding field, the Isola mix for transitions, and the glossy Raccordo profile that coves corners or serves as a small shelf. 20% recycled declared (LEED 4.1), V2 minimal variation for even large fields.

How does a ceramic rug actually beat a real one in Indian conditions?
On every failure mode: it cannot curl, slide or fray; chai, turmeric and monsoon mud sit on a class 5 glaze and mop off with neutral detergent; colours are fired, so five years of sun through the atrium glass change nothing; and dust mites have nowhere to live - a real advantage where housekeeping is measured. Zoning power stays identical: a Dama field under the lounge seating, Bandiere at the tea corner, a Terracotta border as the rug's edge. One installation, decades of service.
Can the patterned floor really go in wet and barefoot zones?
That is the collection's quiet feat: R11, DIN 51097 class C - the highest barefoot rating - and DCOF 0.74 are declared on the full 20.5 format, patterns included, with Pendulum 55 dry/45 wet. So spa floors, shower areas and pool surrounds can be decorated instead of downgraded to plain safety tile. Frost resistance extends the same package to terraces and outdoor walkways. Traction and decoration in one product - rare enough to lead the spec with.
Which pattern and light suit which space?
Think of Neve, Sole and Ombra as intensity settings on one design: Neve lifts windowless washrooms and covered corridors; Sole warms cafeterias and lounges; Ombra grounds reception and bar floors. Dama reads classic, Bandiere playful, Scala architectural. The Isola mix shuffles patterns for transition zones, and the five solids - Terracotta and Azzurro especially - frame the composition. Declared V2 minimal variation keeps large fields uniform across purchase orders.
What is the Raccordo and where does it earn its cost?
A three-in-one extruded glossy profile (Caramel or Nero): coving the floor-wall junction for hygienic cleaning - relevant for healthcare and F&B back areas - capping half-height boiseries in lobbies, or serving as a small ceramic shelf beside basins and outdoor showers. It is a decorative extruded profile rather than a floor tile, and its glossy surface asks for fine-grain grout and gentle cleaning. Small piece, three billable details resolved.
What documentation and ordering discipline apply?
Documentation: the full declared slip package, stain class 5, chemical class A, frost resistance, 20% pre-consumer recycled (LEED 4.1, July 2025) with EPD and SVHC on request via La Mercanti - useful for IGBC files. Ordering: the format is non-rectified with transparently declared calibres (cal 0/cal 1) to be requested in advance - La Mercanti manages this at order stage - tiles drawn from several boxes, 2 mm joints.
