Most desks stand on legs and then have storage pushed underneath. The X9 return composition inverts the logic: its drawer unit is load-bearing — the pedestal that files your papers also carries the return top, working as a structural column of the desk. One element, two jobs: fewer legs on the floor, more clarity under the surface, and storage exactly where the working hand expects it.

Designed by Gabriel & Polloni Associati for Quadrifoglio, X9 spans 161 to 232 cm in width with veneered tops in grey elm, American walnut or striped ebony over a steel frame in matte white or umbra grey. The multi-purpose box adds a cable bay, a bag shelf and a CPU berth; a leather-effect inlay with tone-on-tone stitching is optional for the top.

Meeting tables growing to four sections and coffee tables in the same veneers complete the series — a full cabin-to-boardroom kit from one line. La Mercanti configures the composition on your floor plan and confirms dates in writing with the order, for offices in India and worldwide.

FAQ

What is the modesty panel and when is it needed?
A 19 mm veneered front panel that screens the leg area towards visitors, supplied plain or with a milled decorative pattern, in four lengths from 121 to 181 cm on steel side supports. Specify it for cabins where guests sit directly opposite the director.
What do the sustainability documents declare?
Panels made from 100% recycled wood with CATAS Quality Award CARB certification for low formaldehyde emission, and resins free of SVHC substances per the ECHA list — usable evidence for green building documentation.
How is X9 related to the e-9 desk in the catalogue?
Quadrifoglio presents e-9 as a dynamic reinterpretation of the X9 with a panel leg: the same top language on a different support. Choosing between the two is a question of character, not of quality.
Which widths does the desk range cover?
Four freestanding widths — 161, 181, 201, 221 cm — at 101 cm depth, and four return compositions from 172 to 232 cm over a 234 cm total depth, all at a 75 cm working height.
Where do the power strips live in this desk?
Inside the multi-purpose box: the top bay closes them behind an aluminium flap with a brush pass-through, while Ø 60 mm grommets lift the cables to the top. The lower shelf berths the bag and the CPU.

How to roll out X9 desks across floors

A multi-cabin fit-out works best in waves. Five steps to phase X9 deliveries without stopping the office.

Split the building into phases
Sequence floors or departments and assign each its X9 configurations from the order list.
Start with the flagship cabin
Install the first X9 with its meeting table as the quality benchmark for every later phase.
Align the electricians
Power points must be ready before each wave, so grommets and totems connect on installation day.
Inspect phase by phase
Check veneers and drawer action on each floor before the crew moves to the next.
Keep a buffer for additions
Leave schedule room for extra desks — X9 modules make later extensions painless.
