A delivery of forty stools across four floors is not a design problem, it is a morning. And the instruction Lapalma prints for that morning is the one most often ignored: dispose of the packaging only at the end, once assembly is complete, so that no fixing or component leaves the building inside a flattened carton.
The rest of the first day follows from how the stool is built. It is a continuous line from base to seat, which means there is nothing to grip except the structure — and that is exactly what Lapalma asks you to grip. Lifting by the seat is what loosens a stool over years of being moved, and it is the habit a handover briefing can still prevent on day one.
Two more lines belong in that briefing: the stool is designed to rest normally on its base, not to take off-centre loads, and nobody should stand on the footrest. After that the choices are pleasant ones — curved plywood in three finishes, eight lacquers, Fenix, leather or fabric indoors, stainless steel with iroko or polyurethane outdoors. La Mercanti supplies LEM across India with samples and the finish schedule agreed before the order.

Care: damp cloth or diluted neutral detergent, never alcohol, bleach, solvents or abrasives; lift the stool by the structure, not the seat; do not stand on the footrest; no chlorides on the metal; iroko darkens with light and takes an annual oiling; stainless near sea or pool needs more frequent cleaning
