A front desk is a workplace where someone sits for hours in full view of the room, and the seat is part of the first impression a visitor forms. The Saya stool answers both halves of that: it is built on a steel sled base in two heights, so it can be matched to a bank counter or a hotel front desk rather than to a bar, and its oak veneered shell is the same one used on the chairs in the lounge downstairs — which means reception and public areas can be furnished as one family instead of two. Arper declares the collection for general use in office buildings, public halls and banks, and the shell can be ordered bare or with a seat cushion in fabric, leather or coated fabric where someone sits through a whole shift. Which height belongs at which counter is worth confirming in writing; that part arrives from La Mercanti as a line-by-line schedule.

FAQ

How many wood finishes are there to choose from?
One only, sliced oak veneer, which means there is no tone to match between phases of a project.
Does the stool share the chair's shell?
The shell is the same plywood piece with sliced oak veneer, which lets reception, lounge and dining areas read as one family.
What should be specified for a full shift at the counter?
The seat cushion, applied to the seat and upholstered in fabric, leather or coated fabric, is the version to specify where staff sit for hours.
How is the shell maintained in a public area?
Water with well-diluted neutral soap on a soft cloth, then dried; commercial stain removers, solvents and abrasives are excluded by the producer.
What else is in the collection?
Three chair bases — oak-veneered plywood legs, steel legs, steel sled — across five item codes in total with the stools.

How to keep a Saya shell looking new in a public area

Five steps that put the producer's care instructions into daily practice.

Write two routines, not one
Wood and metal have separate instructions from the producer; a single shared routine will damage at least one of them.
Keep the wood on soap and water
The Saya shell takes water with well-diluted neutral soap on a soft cloth, then a dry wipe; commercial stain removers are excluded.
Set the metal products aside
Household detergents diluted in lukewarm water, no abrasives, acids or bleach, rinsed and dried after cleaning.
Deal with marks the same day
On upholstery a mark absorbed immediately stays on the surface; left overnight it works into the material.
Ask for the care sheet with the order
Request the producer's instructions alongside the schedule so the operations team has them before delivery.
