Headrests are usually fixed, which means they fit one height of person and quietly annoy everyone else. On the reclining version of Aston Club the headrest is a cushion that is adjustable and removable: it moves to suit the person sitting in it, and it comes off altogether when the chair is used upright or when a cleaner silhouette is wanted for a room.

It pairs with a weight-triggered recline that locks in three positions, on a four-legged aluminium base in shiny or painted finish. Arper positions the collection for offices and equally for hotels, hospitality interiors and homes — in an Indian project that can mean a boardroom anteroom, a hotel lounge and a promoter's study using the same chair. Why does a removable headrest matter?
Because a lounge chair is rarely used by one person only. A cushion that moves in height suits different statures, and one that comes off entirely lets the same chair work upright in a meeting anteroom and reclined in a lounge, without buying two products.
Is the headrest on every version?
No. It belongs to the version with the weight-triggered recline; the simpler lounge chair has the return mechanism alone. They are separate catalogue items and should be specified as such.
How does the recline lock?
In three set positions, with the movement triggered by the weight of the person leaning back rather than by a lever.
What are the internal components made of?
