The interesting number on the Zoe datasheet is not a dimension. It is the count of internal chambers, which changes with the model: six in the Chaise Longue, five in XL, Large and Small, three in the Baby. Each chamber holds its own portion of polystyrene pearls, kept in place by cotton twill tapes.

That is how a seat with no frame keeps its shape: the filling cannot migrate to one end, because it is compartmented in proportion to the piece. Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina in 2006, the whole collection is fully removable and every chamber has a zip with a safety pocket. La Mercanti explains this before an Indian corporate lounge is signed off, because it is the difference between an informal seat and a shapeless one.

Why is the filling divided into chambers?
So it cannot migrate. Without a frame, the only thing keeping the shape is the way the filling is compartmented, and the compartments are formed by 100% Twill cotton tapes sewn inside the cover.
How many chambers does each model have?
Six in the Chaise Longue, five in the XL, Large and Small armchairs, three in the Baby. The count follows the size of the piece rather than being a fixed number.
What is the safety pocket on the zip for?
It is part of how each chamber is closed, and it is what allows the filling to be reached deliberately rather than by accident.
Will a large armchair feel different from a small one?
The proportion of filling to chamber is what governs the feel, which is why the number changes with the model. Trying two sizes side by side answers the question faster than any specification.
Are the dimensions reliable for a layout?
They are approximate by declaration, because the piece is built with mobile material. Use them for planning and leave circulation margin.

Start from the model, not the fabric

Check the chamber count
